P retty monochromatic hello card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Parakeet Party Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Basic White Cardstock
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side so it is in the topmost hinge space. Put the Stamparatus Foam Mat on the base of the Stamparatus.
Place the open Parakeet Party card on the base of the Stamparatus so the cardstock is horizontal and the top edge is along the top edge of the Stamparatus base and the right edge is along the right edge of the Stamparatus base.
Pick out the large leaf sprig image from the Nature's Prints Set. Place the stamp upside down on the cardstock on the Stamparatus base so that it is in the center of the front of the card (right side). Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Ink up the stamp on the plate using the Parakeet Party Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue or the Simply Shammy. Close the plate onto the cardstock on the Stamparatus base and press down firmly. Open the plate.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
Tip: If you have a Parakeet Party Stampin' Spot on hand, use it to ink up the stamp instead of a full sized ink pad. It will give you more control and will help keep stray ink from getting on the plate.
Leave the stamped Parakeet Party card in place on the Stamparatus. Place the large white rectangle vertically on top of the card front (right side) so it is centered.
Ink up the stamp on the plate again using the Parakeet Party Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue or the Simply Shammy. Close the plate onto the white rectangle on the Stamparatus base and press down firmly. Open the plate.
Remove the stamped white rectangle and the stamped Parakeet Party card from the Stamparatus.
Pick out the matching large leaf sprig die from the Natural Prints Dies. Put it on top of the stamped leaf sprig image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the image is centered in the die. Run through the machine. Keep both pieces!
Pick out the second largest Stitched With Whimsy Die. Put it on top of the white rectangle with the leaf sprig cut out of the center on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered on the rectangle. Run through the machine.
Note: This die doesn't really cut anything out. Instead, it will add stitching texture to the cardstock.
Adhere the white rectangle with the leaf sprig cut out of the center and the stitching around the edges to the front of the stamped Parakeet Party card so it is centered over the leaf sprig stamped on the front of the card.
Adhere the leaf sprig cut out to the front of the card at a slight angle so it overlaps the left side of the cut out in the center of the card as shown.
Mount the "Hello There" sentiment from the Nature's Prints Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Parakeet Party Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white square.
Pick out the larger, square Stitched With Whimsy Die (it adds stitches about 1-3/4" square). Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment. Run through the machine.
Note: This die doesn't really cut anything out. Instead, it will add stitching texture to the edges of the cardstock.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut along the outside stitched edges on the sentiment square. Leave a small amount of cardstock between the cut edge and the stitching.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the stitched sentiment square cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the bottom right side of the leaf sprig cut outs and the right side of the stitching on the white rectangle and is about 1" from the bottom of the card.
Cut a 10" piece of the Parakeet Party 1/8" Metallic Woven Ribbon.
Tie a small bow in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon bow to the front of the card at a slight angle at the bottom left corner of the stitched sentiment square cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large Parakeet Party flower from the sheet of Fun Flowers Resin Shapes. Adhere it to the upper right corner of the card as shown.
