T
his technique takes on the look of a piece of white tile. It's very simple to do and is a fun look!
This card design can be done horizontally or vertically, your choice.
Project Recipe
Measurements:
Starry Sky Card Base -
for horizontal card - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
for vertical card - 4 1/4" x 11"
Starry Sky Card Front Layer -
5 1/4" x 4"
Lemon Lime Twist Layer -
5 1/4" x 3 1/4"
Basic White Layer -
5" x 3"
scrap for 1 3/4" circle
Vellum -
scrap for 2" circle
Take the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Starry Sky and run it through your embossing machine using the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder.
Attach the embossed layer to the card front.
Stamp your sentiment of choice on the Basic White circle using Starry Sky ink. Layer this onto the Vellum circle.
Take your Simple Score tool and score the 5" x 3" piece Basic White at 1" increments on both sides. Use the large ball on the stylus tool so that the score lines are deeper.
Using your choice of images (I used the large Ginko leaf), stamp randomly across the scored layer. DO NOT press the stamp too hard, you want to leave the white score lines showing to give the tile effect.
Layer the stamped layer onto the Lemon Lime Twist layer.
Adhere this layer to the card base.
Using dimensionals, attach the circle to the card front.
Using the bullet end of the Dk. Starry Sky blend, color 3 Rhinestones (I did one of each size). Attach those to the card front.
Tie a bow using the Starry Sky Metallic trim and attach it just below the sentiment on the circle.
Using Starry Sky ink, stamp your sentiment of choice on the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock. I used a sentiment from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set.
Stamp your image of choice as well. Stamp an image on the lower left-hand side of the envelope.
You are finished!
This is how the vertical option looks for this card.
