Project Recipe
Paper and Dimensions
-
Base Card - Elegant Eggplant or Dapper Denim - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" folded -
Layer 1 - Berry Burst or Night of - Navy - 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" -
Layer 2 - Whisper White (ww) - 3" x 4 1/4" -
Inside Layer - Whisper White -4" x 5 1/2"
Use the "Hardwood" background stamp to stamp the front of the base card. I used the same ink as the card stock. Either Elegant Eggplant or Dapper Denim.
Take the whisper white layer 2 and using post it roll tape, I tore the tape the length of the card and placed it around all edges of the card. You want an uneven edge to give the card character. Only cover about 1/4" of each edge around the parameter of the card.
Take the circle mask and place on the right upper hand corner of the layer. Do not overlap the outside edge mask with the moon mask.
If you are using the Elegant Eggplant base, then use the Elegant Eggplant and Berry Burst ink for inking the masked off layer. As you start sponging your color, remember to start off the layer on your scrap paper in a circular motion so that you do not add a blog of dark ink to your layer. Put a light layer of Berry Burst Ink all over the layer with a heavier concentration in the center right side. Use the Elegant Eggplant ink to ink the outside edges of the layer all the way round the card. blend into the Berry Burst edges.
If you are using the Dapper Denim base, then use the Dapper Denim and Night of Navy ink for inking the masked off layer. As you start sponging your color, remember to start off the layer on your scrap paper in a circular motion so that you do not add a blog of dark ink to your layer. Put a light layer of Dapper Denim Ink all over the layer going light on the center right side of the layer. It is okay to have some white show through. Use the Night of Navy ink to ink the outside edges of the layer all the way round the card. Blend into the Dapper Denim edges.
Once your layer is sponged, remove all of the masking tape and moon mask. Stamp the single pine tree from "Lovely as a Tree" using black ink on the right side of the layer. Part of the tree top will appear in the moon. The base of the tree should be on the white of the layer where it was masked off. This gives it the appearance of a snow covered ground.
After stamping the tree, I then used the sentiment "Merry Christmas" from the "Hang Your Stockings" stamp set and inked in black and stamped in the upper left corner of the WW layer.
You may choose to stamp a deer or two on your layer using the deer in the "Carols of Christmas" Stamp Set.
Using a clear block, I squeezed a small amount of multi purpose glue on the block and then added water and mixed it up.
I took a small brush and saturated it with the glue mixture and then flicked it all over the card layer.
I used Dazzling Diamond glitter and sprinkled it over the layer as if your are embossing.
Remove the excess glitter by flicking the back of the layer. Take your heating tool and dry.
I then took a dry paint brush and brushed any excess glitter off the tree and layer.
Adhere Layer 2 ww to Layer 1 which will be either the Berry Burst or Night of Navy.
Now adhere those two layers to the based card.
I also adhered a ww layer inside the card and stamped the sentiment "Wishing You A Season Filled With Love and Happiness."
