A gorgeous Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Merry Merlot Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 4" x 5" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 5 pieces each 2" x 3" from Merry Merlot Cardstock
- 6 pieces each 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" from Merry Merlot Cardstock
Insert the Garden Green rectangle into the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
Tip: There is a thin black line on the bottom of the front flap of the folder (the one with the logos on it) that runs through the Stampin' Up! logo. You can use this line to help you position the cardstock so it is straight inside the folder.
Place the folder with the card stock inside directly on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are using only ONE Cutting Pad. If you try to use two, the sandwich will be too thick and you could damage the Big Shot.
Tip: If the impression doesn't seem very deep, you can place a thin shim of cardboard (a piece cut from the cardboard included in designer series paper packs works well) on top of the Cutting Pad to give a little more pressure for a slightly deeper impression.
Adhere the dry embossed green layer to the front of the Merry Merlot card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Merry Christmas To All Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "May the Beauty of the Season..." sentiment from the Merry Christmas To All Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vanilla rectangle.
Pick out the medium sized open label framelit from the Stitched Seasons Framelits. Place the stamped sentiment on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the open label framelit on top so it is centered over the sentiment side to side and the sentiment is closer to the top of the label. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Put SNAIL on the back of the sentiment label on the left side ONLY (this will be the right side of the label when it is right side up). Adhere the label to the card front so it is about 1/8" in from the right side of the green layer and about 3/8" from the top of the green layer. This should leave the left side of the label loose so you can slide the flower petals underneath it.
Pick out the small and large solid leaf framelits with veins from the Nature's Roots Framelits. Place a small and a large rectangle of Merry Merlot Cardstock on a Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the small leaf framelit on the small rectangle and the large leaf framelit on the large rectangle. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Repeat until you have dry embossed 6 small leaves on the small rectangles and 5 large leaves on the large rectangles.

Place the small leaf framelit over the small leaf and the large leaf framelit over the large leaf so the leaves are centered inside the framelits. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Repeat until you have cut out 6 small, dry embossed leaves and 5 large, dry embossed leaves.
WITHOUT adhering, layer the 5 large leaves as poinsettia petals on the card front so they tuck under the left side of the label.
When you are happy with the layout and spacing of the large petals, adhere them in place one at a time using SNAIL. Make sure they tuck under the left side of the label and don't hang over the edges of the card.
WITHOUT adhering, layer the 6 small leaves as poinsettia petals on the card front so they overlap the previous petals and the left side of the label. Let them overlap each other a bit.
Tip: If desired, you can cut off the stems at the bottoms of these petals to make them easier to layer.
When you are happy with the layout and spacing of these petals, adhere them in place one at a time using SNAIL. Remember to let them overlap each other a bit and make sure you don't obscure any of the sentiment.
Carefully peel up a large gem from a sheet of Gold Faceted Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the poinsettia flower.
Cut a 10" piece of the Merry Merlot & Copper 5/8" Reversible Ribbon.
Tie a bow in the center of the ribbon. Try to twist the ribbon so that the metallic copper side shows everywhere. Trim the ends into angles.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow to the lower right side of the label.
