S oft and pretty Valentine or anniversary card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1-1/8" x 5-1/4" of scattered tiny red tulips with light green stems on brown background pattern from All My Love Designer Series Paper
- 2-3/4" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 3" from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock
- 7/8" x 2-7/8" from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
Insert the Crumb Cake rectangle into the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder so the lines are vertical. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to help you get the paper straight. Place the folder with the paper inside directly on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are using only ONE Cutting Pad. If you try to use two, the sandwich will be too thick and you could damage the Big Shot.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to one side of the small Soft Sea Foam strip. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Soft Sea Foam Cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (Soft Sea Foam facing up).
Pick out the straight filigree line thinlit from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits. Place it on top of the Soft Sea Foam Cardstock on the Big Shot. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces.
Remove the protective backing from the straight line filigree cut out and adhere it to the dry embossed Crumb Cake rectangle so the flat line is on top and the bottom of the filigree is about 3/4" from the bottom of the Crumb Cake rectangle and the right edge is about 1" from the right side of the Crumb Cake rectangle.
Adhere the strip of All My Love Designer Series Paper to the right side of the Crumb Cake rectangle.
Adhere the Crumb Cake layer to the front of the Soft Sea Foam card.
Mount the heart with flowers on the upper left side image from the Meant To Be Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Lovely Lipstick Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Whisper White square.
Use the Blender Pen to pull some of the ink from the stamped edges of the flowers in the heart towards the centers of the stamped flowers to give them a light red color.
Tip: Stroke the Blender Pen in one direction only. If you go back and forth, then the cardstock could start to pill and tear. Scribble on Grid Paper to clean the tip of the Blender Pen until no more color is coming off.
Mount the "You Make Me Happy" sentiment from the Meant To Be Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Soft Sea Foam Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the previously stamped heart image on the right side.
Pick out the large, open, scallop-edged heart framelit that cuts out a heart that is 1-7/8" wide from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits. Place the stamped floral heart image with sentiment stamped inside it on the Cutting Pad on the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the heart framelit on top so it is centered over the heart image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Tip: This framelit cuts out the center heart shape which you are using on this project. It also cuts out a thin, scallop-edged heart frame. Use the Die Brush and/or Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the heart frame and throw it away or use it on another project.
Adhere the heart cut out to the front of the card so the bottom tip of the heart touches the straight line of the filigree cut out and is just to the left of the designer paper strip.
Cut a 4" piece of the Lovely Lipstick 1/2" ribbon from the All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack.
Tie a half knot in the center. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card at a slight angle so it covers the bottom tip of the heart.
