S uper cute Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and velvet sheet pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Real Red Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Coastal Cabana Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 5-1/4" from White Velvet Sheets
- 3/4" x 5-1/4" from White Velvet Sheets
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3" from Whisper White Cardstock
Insert the Coastal Cabana rectangle horizontally into the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder so most of the dots are at the top. Place the folder with the card stock inside on a Cutting Pad on the Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Tip: Make sure the edges of the folder are completely on the platform. Otherwise they will catch on the sides of the Big Shot and it may damage the folder and/or the Big Shot..
Use your fingers to tear one long edge of both pieces of White Velvet Sheets.
Put adhesive along the bottom ONLY (not torn) long edge of the thicker piece of White Velvet Sheet. Adhere the torn velvet piece to the bottom of the dry embossed Coastal Cabana layer.
Put adhesive along the bottom ONLY (not torn) long edge of the thinner piece of White Velvet Sheet. Adhere the torn velvet piece to the dry embossed Coastal Cabana layer so it tucks behind the previous piece of torn velvet sheet.
Adhere the dry embossed Coastal Cabana/torn velvet sheet layers to the front of the Real Red card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Making Every Day Bright Set and Signs of Santa Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the signpost image from the Signs of Santa Set on Block C. Ink it up with the StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" white rectangle.
Mount the "North Pole" sentiment from the Signs of Santa Set on Block A. Ink it up with the StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment in the center of the board on the signpost image.
Pick out the signpost framelit from the Santa's Signpost Framelits. Place the stamped signpost image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the signpost framelit on top so it is centered over the image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use the Crumb Cake Marker to color in the board on the signpost. Use the Real Red Marker to color in alternating bands on the signpost so it looks like a candy cane/barber pole.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored signpost cut out to the front of the card on the left side so the base of the signpost just overlaps the upper torn velvet layer.
Mount the penguin image from the Making Every Day Bright Set on Block A. Ink it up with the StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the thin strip of white cardstock with the strip horizontal. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it two more times on the strip, re-inking each time. Leave space between each image. Make sure the penguin is stamped right side up.
Unlock the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide a stamped penguin into the punch and get it centered in the matching punching area. Punch. Repeat until you have punched out all three penguin images.
Use the Real Red Marker to color in the penguins' hats.
Adhere the penguins at slight angles to the right of the signpost so they slide behind the upper torn velvet layer.
Pick out the medium and small snowflake framelits from the Santa's Signpost Framelits. Place the white square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the medium and small snowflake framelits on top. Make sure they do NOT overlap. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the snowflakes from the framelits. Keep the snowflakes and the rest of the white square.
Place the remainder of the white square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the small snowflake framelit on top in an uncut area. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the snowflake from the framelit
Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere the snowflakes to the Coastal Cabana background over the penguins' heads.
Carefully peel up 1 medium rhinestone from a sheet of Clear Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the medium snowflake.
Carefully peel up 2 small rhinestones from a sheet of Clear Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the center of the small snowflakes.
