B right and cheery Christmas card using the Stamparatus and Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Lovely Lipstick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-3/8" x 4" from Pineapple Punch Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 3-1/2" from Call Me Clover Cardstock
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side. Put the foam mat on the base of the Stamparatus. Put a piece of Small Grid Paper on top of the foam mat on the Stamparatus.
Pick out the long string of lights image from the Making Christmas Bright Set. Place it upside down on the Small Grid Paper so most of the bulbs are hanging down and are just above the 1" horizontal line on the Small Grid Paper and the right end of the stamp is on the 3/4" vertical line on the Small Grid Paper. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Place the large white rectangle on the Stamparatus base so a short side is running horizontally across the top and touches the top of the base and the left edge is on the 5" vertical line on the Small Grid Paper. Use a single magnet to hold the paper in place if desired.
Ink up the stamp on the plate using the Call Me Clover Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue. Close the plate onto the white cardstock and press down firmly. Open the plate.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
Tip: If you have a Call Me Clover Stampin' Spot on hand, use it to ink up the stamp instead of a full sized ink pad. It will give you more control and will help keep stray ink from getting on the plate.
Remove the plate from the hinges and then reinsert it in the hinges one step down. Leave the cardstock in place. Re-ink the stamp on the plate and stamp. Repeat this procedure until you have stamped the long string of lights image all down the piece of white cardstock by stepping the plate down one hinge each time. Just remember to re-ink each time! Adjust the position of the magnet as needed.
Use the Markers to color in the bulbs on the stamped strings of lights.
As you are ready to stamp using the Making Christmas Bright Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "friends make ..." sentiment from the Making Christmas Bright Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Lovely Lipstick Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1-1/4" x 4" strip on the right side.
Adhere the stamped sentiment strip to the Pineapple Punch strip.
Adhere the matted sentiment strip to the bottom of the stamped and colored white rectangle about 3/4" from the bottom.
Adhere the white rectangle with sentiment strip attached to the front of the Lovely Lipstick card.
Mount the solid bulb image from the Making Christmas Bright Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Lovely Lipstick Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" strip of white cardstock with the strip horizontal and the bulb pointing up. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave it on the block.
Ink up the stamp using the Call Me Clover Ink Pad. Stamp it near the center of the horizontal strip of white cardstock, so the bulb is pointing up. Leave space between the bulb images so they can be punched out.
Mount the bulb with a star filament image from the Making Christmas Bright Set on Block A. Rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Pineapple Punch Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, pounce the inky dauber all over the stamp to ink it up. Get more ink on the dauber as needed.
Tip: This is a good way to ink up stamps that have very fine lines cut into them so the lines don't fill up with ink.
Stamp the star filament bulb on the other end of the horizontal strip of white cardstock, so the bulb is pointing up. Leave space between the bulb images so they can be punched out.
Unlock the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide a stamped bulb into the punch and get it centered in the matching punching area. Punch. Repeat until you have punched out all three bulb images. Leave the punch unlocked.
Holding the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the strip of Call Me Clover Cardstock into the punch in the bulb base punching area. Punch. Repeat until you have punched out three bulb bases.
Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere the bulb bases to the punched out bulbs.
WITHOUT adhering, lay the bulbs on the card front so they overlap each other and the left side of the matted sentiment strip until you are happy with the layout. Then, adhere them in place one at a time.
Cut a 3" piece of the Lovely Lipstick 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center. Trim the ends.
Adhere the ribbon knot to the card front on the left side of the bulbs using a Mini Glue Dot.
