Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and acetate pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- 2 pieces from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock each 4-1/2" x 6-3/4"
- 2-7/8" x 4-3./4" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3" of scalloped design from Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate
- 2-1/2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" square from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock
- scrap of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
Pick out the framelit from the Lots to Love Box Framelits that cuts out half of the box. Place one piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the half box framelit on top. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Repeat with the other piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock.
Pick out one of the framelits from the Lots to Love Box Framelits that is a straight line with a half circle in the middle. Place one of the box halves on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the straight line with half circle framelit on top so the half circle on the framelit is centered side to side on the short flat edge of the box piece and the straight edge of the framelit is even with the flat edge of the box piece. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. This will cut out a little notch so that it is easier to open the flap when your box is assembled and closed
Place the Crushed Curry rectangle into the Petal Burst Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Ink a Sponge Dauber up by rubbing it across the open Pumpkin Pie Ink Pad. Rub it onto the raised embossed surface of the Crushed Curry rectangle. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed.
Tip: To clean my Sponge Daubers, I just run them under water until the water runs clear and then let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean and can be used with other colors of ink in the future.
Adhere the dry embossed Crushed Curry rectangle to the center of the box piece without the notch cut in it.
Pick out the large heart framelit from the Lots to Love Box Framelits. Place the box half with the Crushed Curry rectangle adhered to the center on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the heart framelit on top so it is about 1/2" from the top and about 3/8" from the right side. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times.
Remove the protective film from the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate rectangle.
Place the box piece with the heart cut out of it upside down on your work surface. Place short pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive as close to the edges of the heart cut out as you can.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and adhere the rectangle of Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate over the heart cut out. Make sure that the GOLD side is facing down so that you'll see the GOLD scallops when you look at the front of the box.
Use the Bone Folder to fold along all score lines on both box pieces.
Put Tear & Tape Adhesive along the inside of both long flaps on the box piece with the heart cut out of it.
With the rounded flap at the top and the heart oriented correctly, remove the protective backing from the one flap and adhere it to the long flap of the other box piece. Make sure the second box piece is oriented so the flat edge with the notch cut out of it is at the top and the rounded flap is at the bottom.
Remove the protective backing from the other long flap on the front of the box and adhere it to the other flap on the back of the box.
If you don't want to have the bottom of the box come open, then place a short strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the top of the bottom rounded flap where it will connect with the inside of the box. Remove the protective backing and tuck the flap in the bottom of the box. Push the Bone Folder into the box and rub on the flap from the inside to help seal the adhesive to the box.
Fill the box with treats and close the top flap.
Tip: If you don't want to give candy, you could include a gift card, jewelry, or small flat toys.
Mount the dragon image from the Magical Day Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Whisper White square. Set aside to let dry thoroughly.
Mount the "love you" sentiment from the Party Pandas Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Pumpkin Pie square.
Pick out the straight-edged small heart framelit from the Lots to Love Box Framelits. Place the stamped sentiment square on a Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the heart framelit on top so it is centered over the sentiment. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the small heart sentiment to the bottom of the acetate heart cut out on the front of the box.
Pick out the small fire framelit from the Magical Mates Framelits. Place the scrap of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock on a Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the fire framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the fire cut out to the front of the box so it points to the right and the left end is just below the bottom of the heart cut out.
Pick out the dragon framelit from the Magical Mates Framelits. Place the stamped dragon on a Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the dragon framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the cardstock that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the stamped dragon cut out on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the light colors first and add highlights with the darker colors. If needed to blend the colors, go over things again with the lighter colors.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the dragon cut out to the front of the box so that the end of his snout is right below the heart cut out.
