- 3" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- scrap of Pool Party Cardstock
- scraps of Smoky Slate Cardstock at least 1" wide
- scraps of Copper, Gold, and Silver Foil Sheets
Mount the dragon image from the Magical Day Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Whisper White square. Set aside to let dry thoroughly.
Pick out the largest arch framelit from the Rainbow Builder Framelits. Place the Basic Gray rectangle on a Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the largest arch framelit on top so it is at the top of the rectangle. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces if necessary. Throw away the skinny arch cut out. Keep the rectangle with a rounded end.
Use Paper Snips to cut down the right side of the Basic Gray rectangle so it is in line with the rounded top.
Use Paper Snips to cut a wavy edge along the right and top side of the Smoky Slate square.
Use the blade of the Paper Snips to rough up the wavy edge cut on the right and top side of the Smoky Slate square.
Ink a Sponge Dauber up by rubbing it across the open Smoky Slate Ink Pad. Rub it over the right and top edges of the Smoky Slate square. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed. Don't clean the Sponge Dauber yet, you will use it again in later steps.
Adhere the Basic Gray rounded top rectangle to the wavy cut and sponged Smoky Slate square so it looks like the opening of a cave.
Adhere the cave pieces to the left side of the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper. Cut off excess Smoky Slate/Basic Gray Cardstock on the left side.
Mount the "Enjoy Your Day" badge image from the Badges & Banners Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp on one side of the Whisper White strip.
Unlock the Best Badge Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped badge sentiment into the punch. Center the badge sentiment in the punching area. Punch.
Pick out the dragon framelit from the Magical Mates Framelits. Place the stamped dragon on a Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the dragon framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the cardstock that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the punched out sentiment badge on the Grid Paper. Use the Light Old Olive and Light Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends Markers to color in the word "Your" and the rays in the center of the badge.
Adhere the badge sentiment to the right side of the cave near the top, leaving about 3/4" of the designer paper showing on the right.
Place the stamped dragon cut out on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the light colors first and add highlights with the darker colors. If needed to blend the colors, go over things again with the lighter colors.
Use the Light and Dark Old Olive and Light and Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends Markers.
Add some sparkle to the dragon's wings and scales using the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.
Adhere the dragon cut out to the right side of the cave so that the end of his tail is right below the point at the bottom of the sentiment badge. Make sure there is room below the dragon to adhere the "rocks" outside his cave.
Pick out the small fire framelit from the Magical Mates Framelits. Place the scrap of Pool Party Cardstock on a Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the fire framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Add some sparkle to the flame using the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.
Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen or a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the flame so it is coming out of the dragon's snout and is just below the word "day" on the sentiment badge.
Pick out the long, thin framelit from the Rainbow Builder Framelits that cuts out big, puffy cloud tops. Place one of the long, skinny rectangles of Smoky Slate Cardstock on a Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the long, thin cloud tops framelit on top near the top edge. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Pick out the long, thin framelit from the Rainbow Builder Framelits that cuts out smaller, more scalloped cloud tops. Place one of the long, skinny rectangles of Smoky Slate Cardstock on a Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the long, thin cloud tops framelit on top near the top edge. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use the blade of the Paper Snips to rough up the cloud cut edges on the tops of both Smoky Slate strips.
Ink a Sponge Dauber up by rubbing it across the open Smoky Slate Ink Pad. Rub it all over both of the cloud cut Smoky Slate strips to make them look like rocks. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed. Don't clean the Sponge Dauber yet, you will use it again in a later step.
Adhere the roughed up, sponged, smaller, more scalloped cloud top strip to the bottom of the designer paper so it covers the bottom of the cave and dragon. Trim off excess on the sides and bottom using Paper Snips.
Adhere the roughed up, sponged, big, puffy cloud top strip to the bottom of the designer paper so it is just a bit lower than the previous layer of Smoky Slate "rocks." Trim off excess on the sides and bottom using Paper Snips.
Adhere the designer paper to the Pool Party rectangle and then to the front of the Old Olive card.
Find the small fire framelit from the Magical Mates Framelits again. Place a scrap of Smoky Slate Cardstock on a Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the fire framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use Paper Snips to cut the spiky ends of the flame cut out off in a slight curve.
Free hand cut another scrap of Smoky Slate with Paper Snips to make a long, skinny, wavy stalactite with a slightly curved top.
Use the blade of the Paper Snips to rough up the edges of the stalactites.
Ink a Sponge Dauber up by rubbing it across the open Smoky Slate Ink Pad. Rub it over the stalactite pieces. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed.
Tip: To clean my Sponge Daubers, I just run them under water until the water runs clear and then let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean and can be used with other colors of ink in the future.
Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the stalactites to the top of the cave mouth so they overlap a bit.
Unlock the Cookie Cutter Builder and Holly Berry Builder Punches. Use them to punch out several different sizes of circles from the Copper, Gold, and Silver Foil Sheets scraps as coins.
Use Mini Glue Dots or the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the coins in piles around the dragon, inside his cave, and down in the rocks at the base of his cave.
Use the Dark Night of Navy, Old Olive, and Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends Markers to color a few of each size of Rhinestone Basic Jewels while they are on the sheet.
Carefully remove the colored Rhinestone Basic Jewels, some plain Rhinestone Basic Jewels, and some Pearl Basic Jewels from the sheets making sure you get the adhesive as well as the jewels. Adhere them to the card front in the piles around the dragon, inside his cave, and down in the rocks below his cave.
