Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Crushed Curry Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Poppy Parade Cardstock
- 3-3/4" x 5" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2 pieces each of 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" of red, orange, and yellow watercolor swirls design from See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper
- 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" of white triangular petals on splattered yellow, red, and orange background design from See A Silhouette Designer Series Paper, cut so the petals are horizontal on the horizontal strip
- 1-1/2" x 2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 2" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
- 1" square from Real Red Cardstock
- 1" square from Poppy Parade Cardstock
Squeeze the lid of the Crushed Curry Ink Pad into the pad to get some ink on the lid, then open the Crushed Curry Ink Pad so the lid is sticking out to the side and place it on your work area in front of you. Gently squeeze a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush over the open lid to get a little pool of glittery water in the lid. Stir it around with the brush tip of the Glitter Brush.
Place the large rectangle of Whisper White Cardstock on some Grid Paper on your work surface and make sure nothing is near by to get splattered by ink.
Dip the brush tip of the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush into the pool of glittery ink in the lid of the Crushed Curry Ink Pad to get lots of glittery ink on the brush. Hold the brush horizontally over the rectangle of white cardstock and flick the end of the brush with your finger making drops of glittery ink fly off onto the cardstock. Repeat until you have all the glittery drops you want, getting more glittery ink on the brush as needed. Set the cardstock aside to dry.
Tip: Wipe out the inside of the Crushed Curry Ink Pad lid with a clean tissue, paper towel, or baby wipe so you don't get any glitter on the ink pad itself when you close the case.
Unlock the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. Slide one short edge of the 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" See A Silhouette Designer Paper strip into the punch as far as it will go. Punch.
Cut a 4" piece of Real Red 3/8" Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon.
Cut a 16" piece of Linen Thread. Fold the thread in half.
Slide the ribbon through the hole in the punched designer paper strip and get it centered. Tie the ribbon in place using the doubled-over Linen Thread tied in a small bow. Trim the ends of the ribbon and thread.
Mount the large flower image from the Little Ladybug Set on Block E. Ink up only the flower portion of the image using the brush tip on the Real Red Stampin' Write Marker. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamp it on one of the 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" pieces of See A Silhouette Designer Paper. Repeat with the other 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" piece of See A Silhouette Designer Paper.
Tip: Make sure you use the Stampin' Write Marker to ink up the stamp NOT the Stampin' Blends Marker.
Pick out the large flower top die from the Ladybugs Dies. Put it on top of one of the stamped flower top images on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the image is centered. Run through the tool. Repeat with the other flower top image.
Pick out the full, solid flower die and the half, solid flower die from the Ladybugs Dies. Put them on top of the Crushed Curry rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the tool. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick tool to remove the pieces. Keep the dies out.
Put the full, solid flower die from the Ladybugs Dies on top of the Real Red square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick tool to remove the pieces.
Put the half, solid flower die from the Ladybugs Dies on top of the Poppy Parade square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick tool to remove the pieces.
Mount the ladybug looking back over her shoulder image from the Little Ladybug Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small white rectangle.
Pick out the matching ladybug looking over her shoulder die from the Ladybugs Dies. Put it on top of the stamped ladybug image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the image is centered. Run through the tool.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the designer paper that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the ladybug cut out on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas.
Use the Dark and Light Real Red and Dark and Light Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends Markers to color in the ladybug cut out.
If the splattered white rectangle is dry, proceed with the next step.
Tip: You can speed up drying if needed using a Heat Tool.
Pick out the dotted flight path die from the Ladybug Dies. Put it on top of the splattered white rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the loop is facing up and the top of the loop is about 1/4" from the top of the rectangle with the right end of the flight path going off the right edge of the rectangle on the upper right side. Run through the tool.
Note: This die just pokes little holes, it does not cut anything out.
WITHOUT ADHERING, place the strip of designer paper with ribbon and thread attached on the splattered white rectangle. Place the flower cut outs and ladybug cut out on top as shown.
Note: You may have to cut some of the designer paper tag off of the right end after adhering it in place in a later step.
Mount the "Hey, Lady!," "Thank You!," or "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Little Ladybug Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it just under the large flower cut out on the left side of the tag.
Mount the line of small ladybugs image from the Little Ladybug Set on Block G. Ink up just the two little bugs on the left side of the line with the Memento Pad by carefully pressing the stamp to the open pad edge. Stamp the two little ladybugs in the bottom right corner of the splattered white rectangle.
Put the splattered white rectangle back on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface and use the Dark Real Red and Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends Markers to color in the two little ladybugs in the lower right corner.
Adhere the designer paper tag in place so the ends of the Real Red ribbon just touch the left edge of the splattered white rectangle. Trim off any excess designer paper on the right edge using Paper Snips as needed.
Adhere the splattered white rectangle to the Poppy Parade rectangle and then to the front of the Crushed Curry card.
Adhere the flowers and ladybug cut out back in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals to adhere the ladybug and small Crushed Curry flower cut out and SNAIL Adhesive for everything else.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 Pineapple Punch dots from a sheet of Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the large designer paper flower cut outs and the small Real Red flower cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 2 Lovely Lipstick dots from a sheet of Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the small Crushed Curry flower cut out and half Poppy Parade flower cut out.
