Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Highland Heather Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-3/4" x 5" of purple brushstrokes on canvas design from Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper
- 1" x 4" from Highland Heather Cardstock
- 1/2" x 4" from Purple Posy Cardstock
- 2" square from Highland Heather Cardstock
- 2" x 2-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
Pick out the dotted flight path die from the Ladybug Dies. Put it on top of the Lily Impressions Designer Paper rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the loop is facing up and the left end of the trail goes off the left edge of the designer paper about 2-1/4" from the top edge. Run through the tool.
Note: This die just pokes little holes, it does not cut anything out.
Pick out the scalloped circle die from the Layering Circles Dies that cuts out a circle that is 1-3/4" diameter. Put it on top of the Highland Heather square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Pick out the dotted flight path die from the Ladybug Dies. Put it on top of the scalloped Highland Heather circle cut out on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the loop is facing up and just barely on the bottom left side of the circle with the left end of the trail going off the left edge of the circle. Run through the tool.
Note: This die just pokes little holes, it does not cut anything out.
Adhere the circle cut out with the flight trail cut into it to the designer paper with the flight trail cut into it so the trails line up. The top of the circle should be about 1/2" from the top of the designer paper and the left edge of the circle should be about 1/4" from the left edge of the designer paper.
Unlock the Banner Triple Punch. Slide one short edge of the Highland Heather strip into the punch as far as it will go. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Hold the unlocked Banner Triple Punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide one short edge of the strip of Purple Posy Cardstock into the punch as far as it will go. Get it centered side to side in the punching area. Punch.
Mount the "Spread your wings and Fly," You're Cute as a Bug," Thinking of You," or "You're so Sweet" sentiment from the Little Ladybug Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad. Stamp it on the punched Highland Heather strip so it is about 3/8" from the bottom of the notch with the notch on the right.
Adhere the punched Purple Posy strip to the back of the stamped Highland Heather strip so the notch is centered and sticks out about 1/2" from the notch on the Highland Heather strip.
Wrap some Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine around the left end of the sentiment strips 4 times so they are tightly gathered at the top and spread out a bit on the bottom and are about 1/4" from the left side of the sentiment. Secure the ends on the back using Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add SNAIL to the back of the matted sentiment strip. Adhere to the bottom of the designer paper rectangle so the left edge goes off the left edge of the designer paper and the bottom edge is about 1/2" from the bottom of the designer paper. Trim off excess cardstock on the left side.
Adhere the designer paper rectangle to the front of the Highland Heather card.
Cut an 8" piece of the Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine.
Tie the twine around the tops of the twine on the card front using a small bow. Trim the ends of the twine bow.
Mount the flying ladybug image from the Little Ladybug Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle.
Pick out the flying ladybug die from the Ladybugs Dies. Put it on top of the stamped flying ladybug image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the image is centered. Run through the tool.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the designer paper that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the flying ladybug cut out on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas.
Use the Dark and Light Blackberry Bliss Markers to color in the ladybug's wings, back, and head cap.
Use the Dark and Light Purple Posy Markers to color in the ladybug's face and alternating belly stripes.
Use the Dark and Light Highland Heather Markers to color in the ladybug's feet, hands, and alternating belly stripes.
Use the Color Lifter Marker to remove any excess color as needed..
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored ladybug cut out to the front of the card so she overlaps the right edge of the circle cut out and is at the end of the dotted flight trail.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 Balmy Blue (they look more purple to me) flower sequins from a sheet of Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere one to the bottom of the loop on the circle cut out. Adhere the other two randomly to the card front.
