Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Terracotta Tile Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Grapefruit Grove Cardstock
Lightly spritz the Grapefruit Grove rectangle with water and insert into the Country Floral 3D Embossing Folder so about 1-1/2" of the cardstock hangs out the bottom of the folder. Place the folder with the paper inside on your die cutting and embossing tool and run through the machine. Allow to dry (you can speed up drying with a Heat Tool if you want).
Mount the ladybug looking back over her shoulder image from the Little Ladybug Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the dry embossed Grapefruit Grove rectangle where the cardstock is smooth.
Mount the "Hey, Lady!" or "Thank You!" sentiment from the Little Ladybug Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Terracotta Tile Ink Pad. Stamp it just to the left of the stamped ladybug image on the Grapefruit Grove rectangle.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the cardstock that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the stamped and dry embossed Grapefruit Grove rectangle on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Dark and Light Cajun Craze Markers to color in the ladybug's wings.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the Terracotta Tile 1/2" Scalloped Linen Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the dry embossed, stamped, and colored Grapefruit Grove rectangle so it covers the bottom of the dry embossed area. Secure in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add SNAIL to the back of the Grapefruit Grove rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Terracotta Tile card.
Cut an 16" piece of the Linen Thread. Fold the thread in half.
Tip: If your Linen Thread is curling a lot, pinch the thread between your fingers and pull it through a couple of times. This will help to remove the curls.
Tie the doubled-over Linen Thread around the left side of the ribbon on the card front using a small bow. Pinch the edges of the ribbon together a bit. Trim the ends of the Linen Thread.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 medium and 2 small Terracotta Tile dots from a sheet of 2019-2021 In Color Faceted Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the top of the card front where the layer is dry embossed.
