Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and Fluid 100 5" x 7" Watercolor Paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Blueberry Bushel Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3 pieces each 1-1/2" x 3-3/4" from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper
- 2 pieces each 1-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper
- 1-1/2" x 3" from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper
Pick out the elongated hexagon die from the Nested Essentials Dies that cuts out an elongated hexagon that is 1-3/8" x 3-1/2". Put it on top of one of the 1-1/2" x 3-3/4" Watercolor Paper rectangles on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other two 1-1/2" x 3-3/4" Watercolor Paper rectangles.
Fill the Water Painters with water. Note that the tops of the Water Painters screw on and off in the opposite direction of what you would expect.
Place two of the Watercolor Paper hexagon shape cut outs on some folded paper towels on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Squeeze the lid of the Blueberry Bushel Ink Pad into the pad to get ink in the pad lid. Open the pad but leave the lid sticking out to the side. Gently squeeze the large, flat brush tip Water Painter to get some drops of water in the lid. Stir the water and ink together and get the brush tip nice and inky. Scribble the watery Blueberry Bushel Ink all over the two hexagon cut outs. Set aside to allow to dry.
As you are ready to stamp using the Lighting The Way Set, place the Watercolor Paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the long leaf sprig with more leaves image from the Lighting The Way Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad. Stamp it on both of the 1-1/4" x 3-1/2" Watercolor Paper rectangles. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Pick out the matching, long, skinny, lots of leaves die from the Lighting The Way Dies. Put it on top of one of the stamped long, skinny, lots of leaves image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other long, skinny, lots of leaves image.
Use the Lost Lagoon Stampin' Write Marker to scribble some color onto Clear Block H. Gently squeeze the medium brush tip Water Painter to get some drops of water on the inky block. Stir the water and ink together and get the brush tip nice and inky. Use the watery Lost Lagoon Ink to color over the two long skinny, more leaves leaf cut outs blending the colors and spreading them out. Set aside to allow to dry. Clean the block with the Simply Shammy.
Mount the long leaf sprig with fewer, smaller leaves image from the Lighting The Way Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad. Stamp it on the 1-1/2" x 3" Watercolor Paper rectangle.
Pick out the matching, long, skinny, slightly less leaves die from the Lighting The Way Dies. Put it on top of the stamped long, skinny, slightly less leaves image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Use the Pecan Pie Stampin' Write Marker to scribble some color onto Clear Block H. Gently squeeze the fine brush tip Water Painter to get some drops of water on the inky block. Stir the water and ink together and get the brush tip nice and inky. Use the watery Pecan Pie Ink to color over the long skinny, less leaves leaf cut out blending the colors and spreading them out. Set aside to allow to dry. Clean the block with the Simply Shammy.
If desired, use the Blueberry Bushel Stampin' Write Marker to fill in any white areas on the two watercolored hexagon shapes. If you do, use the large, flat brush tip Water Painter to spread and blend the ink. Allow to dry.
Mount the "you are all kinds of wonderful!" sentiment from the Lighting The Way Set on Block B. Ink up ONLY the word "wonderful!" using the edge of the brush tip of the Blueberry Bushel Stampin' Write Marker. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp the word in the center of the remaining, uncolored, long hexagon shape cut from Watercolor Paper.
If everything is dry, proceed with the next steps.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the pieces on the front of the Blueberry Bushel card to figure out spacing and placement. When happy with the layout, adhere the pieces in place one at a time. Use Stampin' Seal to adhere the two watercolored hexagon cut outs. Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the leaf cut outs. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment hexagon cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 large and two small Blueberry Bushel gems from the sheet of Tinsel Gems Four-Pack making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere two large ones to either side of the sentiment hexagon cut out. Adhere the remaining gems to the front of the card randomly.
