Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Mint Macaron Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-1/4" x 5-1/4" of green and red plaid design from Rings Of Love 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2-3/4" x 4" from Sweet Sorbet Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-3/4' from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/2" from Mint Macaron Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Ringed With Nature Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Fold the Mint Macaron card on the score line and place it on the Grid Paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat so the front of the card is face up.
Mount the small, leafy sprig image from the Ringed With Nature Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Mint Macaron Ink Pad. Stamp it along the long left edge of the folded card front. Let some of the images go off the edges of the cardstock. Change the orientation of the stamp every so often. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Adhere the piece of Rings Of Love Designer Paper to the front of the stamped card on the right side so about 1/8" of green shows on the top, right, and bottom edges.
Insert the Sweet Sorbet rectangle into the Gingham Embossing Folder. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Cut a 3" piece of the Soft Sea Foam 3/8" Seam Binding Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon diagonally across the upper right corner of the vertical, dry embossed Sweet Sorbet rectangle. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the dry embossed Sweet Sorbet rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the card as shown so it is centered top to bottom and the left edge is about 1/4" from the left edge of the card.
Mount the gnome with braids image from the Kindest Gnomes Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Basic White rectangle.
Pick out the matching gnome die from the Gnomes Dies. Put it on top of the stamped gnome image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Tip: It is often better to cut images out with dies before spending all the time to color them in. That way if the dies slip during the cutting process, you haven't wasted a lot of time on the coloring.
Place the gnome cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's hat, shoes, and apron.
Use the fine tip of the Light Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends to lightly outline the gnome's mouth.
Use the fine tip of the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends to color in the buttons on the gnome's shirt.
Use the Light and Dark Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's shirt.
Use the Light and Dark Night Of Navy Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's skirt.
Use the Medium Light (SU700) Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to add shadows to the gnome's nose, face, thumbs, and feet.
Use the Medium Light (SU800) Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the gnome's nose, face, and hands, and feet.
Use the Medium (SU500 and SU600) Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's braids.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Adhere the colored gnome cut out to the front of the card as shown so the left hand just overlaps the left edge of the dry embossed Sweet Sorbet rectangle and the bottom is about 1/8" from the bottom of the dry embossed Sweet Sorbet rectangle.
Mount the "your kindness does not go unnoticed," "warm wishes," or "Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year" sentiment from the Kindest Gnomes Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the thin Mint Macaron strip.
Pick out the skinnier, pointed end label die from the Lighthouse Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment. Run through the machine.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment label cut out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the bottom right side of the gnome cut out just a bit and the right side of the dry embossed Sweet Sorbet rectangle.
Pick out one piece from the container of Textural Elements. Put it on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Use the Dark Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends to color one side of the Textural Element.
Use 3 Mini Glue Dots to adhere the colored Textural Element to the front of the card so the point of the stem is in the upper right corner of the dry embossed Sweet Sorbet rectangle as shown.
Cut a 4" piece of the Soft Sea Foam 3/8" Seam Binding Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the top of the stem of the Textural Element at a slight angle as shown.
