Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Coastal Cabana Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 3-3/4" x 5" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Just My Type Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "I hope you day is filled with sunshine and rainbows" sentiment from the Just My Type Set on Block H. Use the side of the brush tip of the Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade, and Coastal Cabana Stampin' Write Markers to carefully ink up each line of the sentiment as shown. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp the sentiment in the lower right corner of the horizontal 3-3/4" x 5" white rectangle.
Put the 2-1/2" x 5-1/4" strip of white cardstock horizontally on top of some Grid Paper on your work surface to protect your work surface.
One at a time, pull the Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, Night Of Navy, and Gorgeous Grape pastel sticks from the Soft Pastels Assortment. Rub one end of each stick from the top to the bottom of the horizontal 2-1/2" x 5-1/4" white rectangle creating a rainbow across the strip. Layer the Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight together to create the orange color between the red of the Poppy Parade and the yellow of the Daffodil Delight. Use your finger to blend the colors together and soften the lines. Tap and blow off excess dust.
Pick out the cloudy edge die from the Basic Borders Dies. Put it on top of the pastels rainbow strip on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so you will cut out a rainbow strip about 2" wide with the cloudy bumps along the bottom edge and the colors running from red on the left to purple on the right. Run through the machine.
Adhere the cut rainbow strip to the top of the sentiment stamped white rectangle so the top edges are even. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess cardstock on the left and right edges as needed.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle with rainbow strip attached to the center of the Daffodil Delight rectangle and then to the front of the Coastal Cabana card.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 large and 2 small Balmy Blue sequins from the sheet of Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the card front as shown.
