T he Butterfly Bijou papers paired with some great dies make beautiful cards. Notice I didn’t add a sentiment to the front, this allows me to add a sentiment or note inside the card as I need it.
Project Recipe
Card Base: Cut Just Jade 8 ½ X 11 paper in half widthwise. You now have two pieces 8 ½ X 5 ½ . Fold one of the pieces in half lengthwise for your card front. The card front now measures 4 ¼ X 5 ½.
Card Mat: Cut Highland Heather paper 4 X 5 1/4
Card Front: Cut butterfly print paper 3 ¾ X 5. Save the 2 ¼ X 6 piece left from this cut for your envelope flap. Attach card front to Highland Heather card mat.
I used the long narrow die from Suit & Ties dies to cut the piece of Highland Heather on the card front. I wanted a stitched look to match the stitching on the white label. Honestly, so little of that piece shows you could just cut a strip of Highland Heather ½ X 4. Attach the Highland Heather strip 3 ¼” from bottom of the Highland Heather mat.
Die cut the white label from Stitched So Sweetly dies. Attach this white label centered over the Highland Heather strip. Add a Just Jade enamel on each side of the white label.
Die cut a Just Jade butterfly from the Butterfly Bijou papers. If you don’t have the dies, you could fussy cut the butterfly. Attach the Just Jade butterfly to the center of white label. I attached just the body of the butterfly with glue dots. I used Wink of Stella on the butterfly wings.
That’s it; you have finished your card front. For the inside of your card, cut a piece of Whisper White 4 X 5 ¼. Stamp a sentiment or write a note before attaching this piece inside your card.
