H ere is the swap card I made for January. We were to choose something from the Occasions or Sale-a-Bration catalogs. I chose a Valentine
Project Recipe
Start with a base of Whisper White Thick card stock. The next layer is Real Red cut to 3-3/4" x 5". I then chose a paper from the Sending Love Paper Stack. This is a 6 x 6 paper stack. I simply cut an inch off the bottom and then cut in half for 3" x 5". If you choose a paper that has a larger pattern, you may want to cut off the top or turn in a different direction.
I adhered the pretty heart paper to the real red layer using Fast Fuse.
I chose to layer two different ribbons on the front of the paper piece and then tape them to the back. Using Fast Fuse, I adhered the entire piece to the front of the card base.
I took a piece of Whisper White card stock (you can use scraps but I was making 16 cards so chose strips of 3" wide card stock) and cut out hearts using the Sweet & Sassy framelits. I also cut out the Real Red hearts going up one size so that they could easily layer.
On the white heart, I used my Embossing Buddy to swipe over the piece to remove any static. I then stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink, covered with red glitter embossing powder, and heat set.
TIP: Don't have the red glitter embossing powder? You can use real red embossing powder (retired) or you can create your own look. To get a real red embossed look, stamp the sentiment first in versamark and then immediately in real red. Stamp the sentiment onto the heart, cover with clear embossing powder and heat set. You will now have a real red embossed image!
I layered the two hearts with Fast Fuse and then put them on the card with dimensionals.
