P retty card that can be adapted for many occasions by using a different sentiment.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Berry Burst Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Blushing Bride Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" from Berry Burst
Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" from Blushing Bride Cardstock
- 1-5/8" x 2-3/8" square from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
- scrap of Very Vanilla Cardstock at least 1" wide
Lightly spray the large Blushing Bride rectangle with water. This will help you get a deeper impression when you dry emboss it.
Insert the large damp Blushing Bride rectangle into the Ruffled Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the paper inside directly on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are using only ONE Cutting Pad. If you try to use two, the sandwich will be too thick and you could damage the Big Shot.
Set the dry embossed cardstock aside to let it dry thoroughly.
Tip: You can use a Heat Tool to speed up drying if you wish.
Pick out the large, more detailed grouping of five butterflies thinlit from the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits. Place the Berry Burst rectangle on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the large, more detailed grouping of five butterflies thinlit on top so you will cut out the small, open-winged butterfly in the lower right corner. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use Paper Snips to cut off any excess cardstock where the butterfly was attached to the others.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to one side of the small Blushing Bride rectangle in the center. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Blushing Bride on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (Blushing Bride facing up).
Pick out the large, more open grouping of five butterflies thinlit from the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits. Place it on top of the Blushing Bride Cardstock piece on the Big Shot so you'll cut out the the small, open-winged butterfly in the lower right corner. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use Paper Snips to cut off any excess cardstock where the butterfly was attached to the others.
Carefully remove the protective backing from the back of the Blushing Bride butterfly cut out. Adhere it over the Berry Burst butterfly cut out so everything is lined up.
If the dry embossed Blushing Bride rectangle is dry, then adhere it to the front of the Berry Burst card using Tear & Tape Adhesive around the edges.
Put a Mini Stampin' Dimensional in the middle of the back of the layered butterfly cut outs. Remove the protective backing and adhere it to the front of the card in the lower left corner.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Itty Bitty Greetings Set on the appropriately sized block. Ink it up with the Berry Burst Ink Pad and stamp it in the center of the strip of vanilla cardstock.
Pick out either the short, rounded ends banner framelit or the long, single, open banner framelit from the Bunch of Banners Framelits. Place the stamped sentiment on the vanilla strip on a Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on your Big Shot. Place the banner framelit on top so the sentiment is centered. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Tip: If you used the long, single, open banner framelit, then poke out the banner with the sentiment and keep it. Also use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to poke out the outline banner that is probably stuck inside the framelit, remove it, and throw it away. If you don't remove it, then you will have trouble cutting with this framelit the next time you use it.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment banner to the front of the card so it is centered under the butterfly cut outs and tucked under the wings a bit.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up three flower-shaped Balmy Blue sequins from a sheet of Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the card front.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a circle Balmy Blue sequin from a sheet of Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere it to the center of the butterfly cut outs.
