P retty congratulations card using Stampin' Up! products.
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Petal Pink Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of green leaf sprigs on watercolor washed pink and yellow background design from Rings Of Love 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2" x 3-1/4" from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock
- 2" x 2-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 4-1/2" from Mint Macaron Cardstock
- 1" x 2" from Petal Pink Cardstock
- 7/8" x 1-7/8" from Adhesive Sheets
Adhere the piece of Rings Of Love Designer Paper to the front of the Petal Pink card.
Unlock the Banners Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the Mint Macaron strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the inward notch) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
Cut a 5" piece of the Soft Sea Foam 3/8" Seam Binding Ribbon.
Wrap the ribbon around the straight end of the punched Mint Macaron strip about 1/8" from the top. Tie in place with a knot. Trim the ends.
Adhere the punched Mint Macaron strip with ribbon tied around the top to the front of the card so it is centered side to side and is about 3/8" from the top.
Mount the "you're always on point!" sentiment from the Hippest Hippos Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Mint Macaron Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vertical Soft Sea Foam rectangle as close to the bottom edge as possible.
Adhere the stamped Soft Sea Foam rectangle to the front of the card so it is centered side to side over the Mint Macaron strip and the top edge is just below the ribbon tied around the Mint Macaron strip.
Mount the dancing hippo image from the Hippest Hippos Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle.
Pick out the matching hippo die from the Hippo Dies. Put it on top of the stamped hippo image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Tip: It is often better to cut images out with dies before spending all the time to color them in. That way if the dies slip during the cutting process, you haven't wasted a lot of time on the coloring.
Place the hippo cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends to color in the hippo's belly.
Use the Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends to color in the hippo's finger nails, toe shoes, the inside of the ears, and to outline the nostrils and mouth.
Use the Light and Dark Gray Granite Stampin' Blends to outline the hippo's nose. Then, use the Light and Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the nose and blend the grays.
Use the Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the hippo's head, ears, body, arms, and legs.
Use the Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends to color in the tutu.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored hippo cut out to the front of the card so it is centered on the Soft Sea Foam rectangle just above the stamped sentiment.
Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets rectangle. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets rectangle to one side of the Petal Pink rectangle. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the set of two flowers die and the single, tiny flower die from the Hippo Dies. Put them on top of the Petal Pink rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Petal Pink side is face up. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
One at a time, carefully remove the protective backings from the flower cut outs. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 tiny pearls from a sheet of Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the flower cut outs.
