P layful Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Sweet Sorbet Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-5/8" x 3-5/8" from Sweet Sorbet Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 1-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Jingle Jingle Jingle Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the string of lights image from the Jingle Jingle Jingle Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad. Stamp it 3 times across the top of the horizontal 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle as shown. Let some of the images go off the sides of the cardstock.
Mount the small, solid light bulb image from the Jingle Jingle Jingle Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad. Stamp it inside some of the empty lights hanging from the strings. Stamp some of the images without re-inking. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Re-ink the small, solid light bulb image on Block A, but this time use the Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the remaining empty lights hanging from the strings. Stamp some of the images without re-inking.
Mount the tiny bow image from the Jingle Jingle Jingle Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad. Stamp it over the ends of the strings as needed to "tie" them together.
Mount the patterned letters "believe" image from the Jingle Jingle Jingle Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad. Stamp it on the 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" horizontal white strip so it is about 1/4" from the top edge and centered side to side.
Mount the outlined letters "believe" image from the Jingle Jingle Jingle Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad. Stamp it on the 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" horizontal white strip so it outlines the previously stamped patterned letters..
Mount the "in the magic" sentiment from the Jingle Jingle Jingle Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad. Stamp it just below the word "believe" image on the right side as shown.
Adhere the stamped sentiment rectangle to the center of the Sweet Sorbet rectangle.
Adhere the matted sentiment rectangle to the stamped white rectangle so it is about 1/4" from the right edge and about 7/8" from the bottom edge.
Mount the tiny, solid star image from the Jingle Jingle Jingle Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad. Stamp it once in the lower right corner of the large white rectangle just below the matted sentiment. Without re-inking, stamp it again just below the first star at a slightly different angle. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Re-ink the tiny, solid star image on Block A using the Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad. Stamp it just to the left of the two previously stamped stars as shown.
Adhere the stamped, large white rectangle to the front of the Sweet Sorbet card.
Mount the running hippo image from the Hippest Hippos Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" white rectangle.
Pick out the matching hippo die from the Hippo Dies. Put it on top of the stamped hippo image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Tip: It is often better to cut images out with dies before spending all the time to color them in. That way if the dies slip during the cutting process, you haven't wasted a lot of time on the coloring.
Place the hippo cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends to color in the hippo's belly and nose.
Use the Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends to color in the hippo's finger nails, toe shoes, the inside of the ears, and to outline the nostrils and mouth.
Use the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the hippo's head, ears, body, tail, arms, and legs.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored hippo cut out to the front of the card as shown so he is about 1/2" from the left edge and overlaps the left end of the matted sentiment rectangle a bit. Make sure to leave room for his hat!
Mount the outlined Santa hat image from the Jingle Jingle Jingle Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad. Stamp it on the remaining white piece.
Mount the solid Santa hat top image from the Jingle Jingle Jingle Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the outlined hat image.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the Santa hat by hand.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cut out Santa hat to the top of the hippo's head.
