P layful treat cup using Stampin' Up! products and the masking technique.
Project Recipe
Follow the general directions for covering the Sweet Treat Cup using pieces of the multi-colored gummy bears on white background design from the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper and Coastal Cabana Cardstock for the 3-1/4" square of colored cardstock for the lid.
To create the main image, mount the gopher/groundhog image from the Hey Love Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it near the bottom in the center of the 3-1/4" Whisper White square. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the stamp with the Memento Ink Pad and stamp it on a Post-It Note near where the sticky edge of the Post-It is located. Leave the stamp on the block.
Use Paper Snips to carefully cut out the gopher image just inside the stamped lines.
Adhere the cut out Post-It Note gopher over the top of the gopher stamped on the white square.
Re-ink the gopher image with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on top of the Post-It Note gopher on the cardstock so the feet go over the top of the Post-It Note gopher. Leave the stamp on the block.
Carefully remove the Post-It Note gopher. It should look as if you have a gopher standing on the shoulders of the first gopher.
Adhere the cut out Post-It Note gopher over the top of the second stamped gopher.
Re-ink the gopher image with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on top of the Post-It Note gopher on the cardstock so the feet go over the top of the Post-It Note gopher.
Carefully remove the Post-It Note gopher. It should look as if you have another gopher standing on the shoulders of the second gopher.
Pick out the circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits that cuts out a 2-3/8" diameter circle. Place the stamped white square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the circle framelit on top so the images are on the left side of the circle. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Mount the "hey, valentine" sentiment from the Hey Love Set on Block G. Ink it up ONLY the word "valentine" using the brush tip of the Granny Apple Green Marker. Stamp it just to the right of the bottom gopher in the stack. Clean the stamp using the Simply Shammy or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave it on the block.
Ink up ONLY the word "valentine" on the sentiment stamp using the brush tip of the Pineapple Punch Marker. Stamp it just to the right of the middle gopher in the stack. Clean the stamp using the Simply Shammy or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub, but leave it on the block.
Ink up ONLY the word "valentine" on the sentiment stamp using the brush tip of the Gorgeous Grape Marker. Stamp it just to the right of the top gopher in the stack. Clean the stamp using the Simply Shammy or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub and put it away.
Place the stamped circle cut out on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the dark colors first and then the light colors to blend the colors and color in the spaces. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Light Lovely Lipstick Marker to color in the gophers' noses.
Use the Dark Lovely Lipstick Marker to color in any bits of the hearts the gophers are holding that show.
Use the Light Granny Apple Green Marker to color in the belly and face of the bottom gopher.
Use the Dark Granny Apple Green Marker to color in the rest of the bottom gopher.
Use the Light Pineapple Punch Marker to color in any of the belly and face that shows of the middle gopher.
Use the Dark Pineapple Punch Marker to color in the rest of the middle gopher.
Use the Light Highland Heather Marker to color in any of the belly and face that shows of the top gopher.
Use the Dark Highland Heather Marker to color in the rest of the top gopher.
Use the Color Lifter Marker as needed to remove excess ink.
Adhere the colored gophers and sentiments circle cut out to the center of the Coastal Cabana scalloped circle cut out. Then, adhere the matted circles to the center of the Sweet Cup lid.
Use the brush tips of the Granny Apple Green Dark, Pineapple Punch Dark, and Highland Heather Dark Stampin' Blends to color 3 different small hearts on a sheet of Heart Epoxy Droplets while they are on the sheet.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the colored droplets making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them at slight angles to the top of the Sweet Cup lid just above the "v" in the word valentine next to each correspondingly colored gopher.
