Project Recipe
Follow the general directions for covering the Sweet Treat Cup using pieces of the multi-colored dots on light purple background design from the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper and Gorgeous Grape Cardstock for the 3-1/4" square of colored cardstock for the lid.
Additional cardstock needed:
- scrap of Smoky Slate Cardstock at least 1-1/2" wide
- scrap of Whisper White Cardstock at least 1-1/2" wide
To create the main image, mount the ape/gorilla image from the Hey Love Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 3-1/4" Whisper White square.
Pick out the circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits that cuts out a 2-3/8" diameter circle. Place the stamped white square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the circle framelit on top so the image is on the left side of the circle. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Place the stamped circle cut out on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the dark colors first and then the light colors to blend the colors and color in the spaces. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Markers to color in his belly/chest and face.
Use the Light Smoky Slate Marker to color in his hands.
Use the Light and Dark Highland Heather Markers to color in the rest of the body.
Use the Dark Real Red Marker to color in the heart in his hands
Use the Color Lifter Marker as needed to remove excess ink.
Adhere the colored ape circle cut out to the center of the Gorgeous Grape scalloped circle cut out. Then, adhere the matted circles to the center of the Sweet Cup lid.
Mount the "I'm Ape over you" sentiment from the Hey Love Set on Block A. Use the brush tip of the Gorgeous Grape Marker to ink up only the word "ape." Use the brush tip of the regular Smoky Slate Marker to ink up the rest of the words. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp in the center of the scrap of white cardstock.
Unlock the 1" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Unlock the 1-1/4" Circle Punch. Slide the scrap of Smoky Slate Cardstock into the punch. Punch.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment punch out to the center of the Smoky Slate circle.
Adhere the matted sentiment circles to the top of the Sweet Cup lid on the lower right side so it covers part of the ape on the lower right side.
Use the brush tip of the Real Red Dark Stampin' Blends to color a medium heart on a sheet of Heart Epoxy Droplets while it is on the sheet.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the colored droplet making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it at a slight angle to the top of the Sweet Cup lid just to the right of the ape.
