T his cute card uses a little innovations since the original stamp set is designed for sun flowers.
Project Recipe
Paper and Dimensions
-
Base Card - Very Vanilla - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" folded -
1st and 3rd Layers - 4" x 5 1/4" and 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" - Pumpkin Pie -
2nd Layer - Painted Autumn DSP (designer series paper) - 3 3/4" x 5" -
4th Layer (top/last layer) Whisper White - 3" x 4 1/4" - Cherry Cobbler Scrap for hearts
- Adhere Layers 1 and 2 (DSP) together and adhere to base card.
- on the whisper white card stock, mask off the bottom third of the card stock - Layer 4.
- use the largest flower stamp in the Painted Harvest stamp set, using "crumb cake" ink and stamp the center of the stamp (circle) above the masked off section. Stamp two of the base flowers side by side. These will become your hedgehogs.
- use the smaller flower stamp, ink it with "soft suede" ink and stamp over each of the crumb cake stamps.
- Use the flower center, ink with "crumb cake" and stamp the center of each hedgehog which will become the face.
- use the medium eye and nose stamp out of the "Foxy Friends" stamp set, ink carefully with the "early espresso" ink. Note:do not press face stamp into the ink or you will have a raccoon face. Lightly tap the stamp on the ink pad to cover dots only. See Card example
- Remove bottom mask from the bottom portion of the card stock and use "pear Pizzazz" ink and lightly ink across the bottom of the layer.
- use the sketchy fern leaf and ink with "pear pizzazz" ink and stamp ferns on the right and left bottom of the card stock (over inked area) and at the top left and right side of the card stock. See card example. I also stamped one in the center top pointing downwards. I then took the 3 leaf outline stamp and inked with "crumb cake" ink and stamped over the fern in the right and left corner and in the center top pointing downwards also.
- Use the double grass stamp from the "High Tide" stamp set, ink with "pear pizzazz and stamp grass on the inked area below the hedgehogs. Add a few grass springs using "mossy meadow"ink to give the grass area a variation of color.
- Attach the stamped layer 4 to the pumpkin pie layer #3 and adhere these layers to the top of the DSP and base card layer.
- Punch three (3) little hearts using the Owl Builder punch in cherry cobbler scrap paper. Adhere the hearts with glue dots in the center of the two hedgehogs (see card sample.)
- Make a small bow out of red or cherry cobbler 1/4" ribbon and adhere it to one of the hedgehogs with a glue dot.
- On the inside of the card, I used the sentiment from the "Painted Harvest" stamp set, "gather together & give thanks" and stamped in black ink. I then used a misc. stamp that said, Happy Thanksgiving.
- Congratulations your card is now complete.
