P retty Christmas card using heat embossing and Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Velvet Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Whisper White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Night of Navy Cardstock
- 2-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/8" square of tiny white stars and dots on dark blue background from Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper
- 1-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 2-1/4" from White Velvet Sheets
Insert the Night of Navy rectangle into the Oh My Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside on a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the dry embossed Night of Navy rectangle to the Whisper White Thick card.
Rub the Embossing Buddy across the top of the square of Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper. This will help keep the Emboss Powder from sticking where you don't want it.
Mount the Santa's sleigh and reindeer image from the Hearts Come Home Set on Block C. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it in the upper left corner of the designer paper square at a slightly upward angle.
Mount the square, single story house image from the Hearts Come Home Set on Block B. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the designer paper square so it is about 1/2" from the bottom edge..
Lay the stamped designer paper on top of the Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some White Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers all of the stamped images. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (smooth and shiny).
Use your fingers to tear one long edge of the piece of White Velvet Sheets.
Use Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the torn piece of Velvet Sheets to the bottom of the heat embossed designer paper square so it just covers the bottom of the house. Use Paper Snips to trim off excess Velvet Sheet on the sides and bottom.
Pick out the scalloped square framelit from the Layering Squares Framelits that cuts out a 2-1/4" scalloped square. Place the white square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the scalloped square framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the heat embossed designer paper square with Velvet Sheet attached to the center of the scalloped white square.
Adhere the matted designer paper square to the front of the card so it is centered side to side and about 3/4" from the top.
Mount the "enjoy the warmth..." sentiment from the Hearts Come Home Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white strip.
Pick out the large label framelit from the Merry Christmas Thinlits. Place the stamped sentiment on a Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on your Big Shot. Place the label framelit on top so it is centered over the sentiment. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Cut a 3-3/4" piece of Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon so the ribbon is sharply angled at each end.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive along the length of the back of the sentiment cut out. Remove the protective backing. Adhere the ribbon to back of the sentiment cut out so the ends stick out on either side.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the ribbon and sentiment cut out to the front of the card so it is centered under the matted designer paper square.
