- single, small, red heart from scattered overlapping red, white, and pink hearts on white background design from From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper cut out with Paper Snips (if you want to make the backpack with the sentiment stamped on the doily)
Use SNAIL Adhesive to adhere the 5" x 5-1/2" pieces of From My Heart Designer Paper to the 5" x 5-1/2" Real Red Cardstock pieces. Use a lot of adhesive. Make sure the patterns are oriented the same way.
Pick out the half backpack die from the All Dressed Up Dies. Put it on top of one of the 5" x 5-1/2" pieces of Real Red Cardstock/Designer Paper on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Repeat with the other 5" x 5-1/2" piece of Real Red Cardstock/Designer Paper. Make sure the patterns are oriented the same way.
Fold on all the score lines using the Bone Folder.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the top of the thin flap along the side of the gusseted side of the backpack part of one half of the backpack cut out. Remove the protective backing. Adhere the other half of the backpack cut out to it so one long side of the solid backpack front is attached. Make sure the bottom of the backpack flaps are on the bottom.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the top of the thin flap along the side of the loose gusseted side of the backpack part. Remove the protective backing. Adhere the other end of the backpack cut out to it to form the front, back, and sides of the backpack.
Put some strips of Tear & Tape on the under side of one of the large bottom flaps. Remove the protective backings and adhere the flap to the other bottom flap. Make sure the small side bottom flaps are tucked up inside the bag.
Tip: You can put the broad end of the Bone Folder down into the bag with the bag standing up on the work surface and rub hard against the bottom to make sure the adhesive sticks good and tight.
Pick out the the long, thin strap die from the All Dressed Up Dies. Put it on top of one side of the 1-1/4" x 6-1/4" piece of Real Red Cardstock on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Repeat on the other side of the cardstock so you have two straps.
Pick out one of the short, thin dies with 4 rectangles and 2 slits in them from the All Dressed Up Dies. Put it on top of the Gold Foil Sheet piece on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. KEEP ALL THE PIECES!
Thread the buckles onto one end of each strap cut out so the bars across the center of the buckles is on the back side of the straps.
Use a small piece of Tear & Tape on the back of each strap cut out on the end without the buckles to adhere the straps in place to the front of the backpack on the outside as shown.
Use a small piece of Tear & Tape on the back of each strap cut out on the end with the buckles to adhere the straps in place to the back of the backpack.
Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere two of the small, solid Gold Foil rectangles cut out when you cut out the buckles to the front of the backpack so they overlap the top of the backpack and the bottom of the strap as shown.
As you are ready to stamp using the Heartfelt Photopolymer Set, place the cardstock or doily on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
If you are making the backpack with the "Happy Valentine's Day" heart:
Mount the "Happy Valentine's Day" heart image from the Heartfelt Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the white strip.
Unlock the smooth-edged heart punch from the Heart Punch Pack. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment heart image into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Adhere the stamped heart punch out to the center of a red doily from the Heart Doilies.
Adhere the matted heart punch out/doily to the front of the backpack.
If you want the backpack with the stamped doily on it:
Mount the "From My Heart To Yours," "Love you lots," or "So lucky to have a friend like you" sentiment from the Heartfelt Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of a pink doily.
Adhere the stamped doily to the front of the backpack at a slight angle.
If you haven't already done so, use Paper Snips to cut out some of the little hearts from the designer paper and adhere them to the front of the backpack so they overlap the doily using Mini Glue Dots.
If you want to make the backpack with the pocket:
Use the brush tip of the Real Red Dark Stampin' Blends to color a large heart on a sheet of Heart Epoxy Droplets while they are on the sheet. Set aside to dry.
Mount the "From My Heart To Yours," "Love you lots," or "So lucky to have a friend like you" sentiment from the Heartfelt Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small Real Red rectangle.
Pick out the the rectangle with a bump on top pocket die from the All Dressed Up Dies. Put it on top of the stamped cardstock on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the sentiment is centered. Run through the tool.
If you haven't already done so, use the Heart Punch Pack to punch out the hearts from the designer paper.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the heart punch outs and pocket cut out on the front of the backpack to determine layout and spacing. Then, one at a time adhere the pieces in place.
If you haven't already done so, cut out the small, pink, foil heart from the designer paper using Paper Snips. Using a Mini Glue Dot, adhere it in place to the front of the backpack so it overlaps the right side of the pocket.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the colored heart droplet making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it at a slight angle to the front of the backpack in the upper right side of the one heart punch out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up an un-colored, large heart droplet making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the other heart punch out.
Fill the backpack with treats and give away!
