P retty card using an emboss resist technique and Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Whisper White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 3" x 3-5/8" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 2-7/8" x 3-1/2" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 2-7/8" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
Place the large white rectangle into the floral patterned folder from the Petal Pair Embossing Folders so the folder runs horizontally across the center of the rectangle. Place the folder with the card stock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Make sure the cardstock and embossing folder do NOT hang out over the edges of the platform or they will catch the edges of the Big Shot as you crank them through which could tear your cardstock and damage your folder and Big Shot. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Slide the folder either up or down on the cardstock so that you will emboss above or below the previously dry embossed area. You can move the cardstock to the left or right inside the folder if you wish to get more complete coverage. Run through the Big Shot again.
Slide the folder either up or down on the cardstock so that you will emboss the remaining flat area. You can move the cardstock to the left or right inside the folder if you wish to get more complete coverage. Run through the Big Shot again.
Adhere the dry embossed white rectangle to the front of the Whisper White Thick card.
Rub the Embossing Buddy all over the smaller white rectangle.
Mount the "best" image from the Happy Wishes Set on Block H. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad and stamp it in the center of the smaller white rectangle.
Mount the "sending my very" sentiment on Block B. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad and stamp it on the white rectangle so it is centered above the word "best."
Mount the "wishes" sentiment on Block G. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad and stamp it on the white rectangle so it is centered below the word "best."
Lay the stamped white cardstock on top of the Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some White Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers all the VersaMark stamped images. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (smooth and shiny).
Place the heat embossed white rectangle on top of Grid Paper to protect your work surface from the Stampin' Blends Markers as they will bleed through.
Use the Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Markers to color over the bottom half of the stamped sentiments. Start with the light marker first all over the bottom half, then add some dark to the center of the sentiment area and then blend it with the light marker.
Use the Pool Party Stampin' Blends Markers to color over the top half of the stamped sentiments. Start with the light marker first all over the top half overlapping the yellow color a bit, then add some dark to the center of the sentiment area and then blend it with the light marker. Where the blue and yellow colors overlap, you will get a very light green color.
Buff off excess ink with a tissue.
Adhere the heat embossed and colored white rectangle to the Pool Party rectangle so the Pool Party rectangle is slightly angled behind it.
Adhere the Daffodil Delight rectangle to the back of the other two rectangles at a slight angle.
Adhere all the rectangles to the center of the card front so that the sentiment rectangle is straight.
Carefully remove 2 Pool Party sequins from a sheet of Tutti-frutti Adhesive-Backed Sequins making sure you get the adhesive as well as the sequin. Adhere them to the bottom left corner of the sentiment rectangle. Adhere 1 yellow sequin to the upper right corner of the sentiment rectangle.
