A new driver congratulations card using a mix of retiring and sneak peek Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and doily pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer and Paper Snips:
- card from Peekaboo Peach Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- half of a large silver Metallic Foil Doily
As you are ready to stamp on each piece of cardstock using the Happy Celebrations Set or Pick A Pennant Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the word "celebrate" from the Happy Celebrations Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Peekaboo Peach Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white strip.
Place the stamped white strip into the "celebrate" folder from the Celebrations Duo Embossing Folders so that the word on the folder is directly over the stamped word on the cardstock. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the dry embossed, stamped white strip to the Basic Black strip so that about 1/8" of an inch of black shows along the top of the white strip.
Mount the curved pennant banner image from the Pick A Pennant Set on Block I so it curves slightly upwards at the ends. Ink it up with the Peekaboo Peach Ink Pad and stamp it on the large white rectangle so the ends of the banner are about 2-1/2" up from the bottom. The strings on the ends will go off the edges.
TIP: One of the advantages of photopolymer stamps is that you can bend and curve them slightly while mounting them on blocks!
One at a time, mount the letters for the word you want to spell on the banner from the Pick A Pennant Set on Block A. Ink them up with the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad and stamp them on the curved pennants to spell out your word.
TIP: Before stamping on my project, I like to stamp the letters on Grid Paper to make sure they are the correct letter and are facing the right direction. Then, I re-ink and stamp on my project.
Mount the outline bird image from the Pick A Pennant Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad and stamp it in the lower right corner of the large stamped rectangle.
Mount the solid bird interior image from the Pick A Pennant Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Peekaboo Peach Ink Pad and stamp it in inside the bird outline image.
If you haven't already done so, cut a large silver Metallic Foil Doily in half. Adhere one half to the center of the stamped large white rectangle about 1/4" from the top and put the other half away to use on a future project.
Adhere the matted "celebrate" strip to the stamped large white rectangle so it covers the bottom of the doily half and the tops of the banner on the ends.
Cut a 15" piece of Peekaboo Peach Baker's Twine.
Fold the twine into thirds.
Lay the folded twine across the cardstock layers so the twine covers the seam between the bottom of the "celebrate" cardstock strip and the large white rectangle . Flip the cardstock over and fold the ends of the twine over. Adhere the ends of the twine in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of the cardstock. Adhere it to the front of the Peekaboo Peach card.
Cut an 18" piece of Peekaboo Peach Baker's Twine.
Fold the twine into thirds.
Tie a small bow in the center of the folded twine. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow at a slight angle to the twine already on the card front on the left side.
Pick out one of the Peekaboo Peach shapes from the 2016-2018 In Color Glitter Acrylic Shapes. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere it to the right side of the banner. If you have an empty pennant, adhere it to the pennant. Otherwise, adhere it to the twine on the right side of the card.
