Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, Foil Sheets, and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Whisper White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 4" small rose gold and silver flowers scattered on white background from Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-3/4" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" x 2-1/2" from Silver Foil Sheets
Rub the Embossing Buddy across the bottom of the 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White rectangle.
Mount the "celebrate" sentiment from the Happy Birthday To You Set on Block G. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad and stamp it in the bottom right corner of the 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle as close to the bottom edge as possible.
Lay the stamped cardstock on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers the stamped sentiment. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Tip: I use a fine-tip paintbrush to knock off any excess powder that is stuck anywhere I don't want it.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use a clothespin to hold the cardstock while using the Heat Tool to avoid burning your fingers.
Lightly spritz the top two-thirds of the stamped and heat embossed 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle with water and insert into the Country Floral 3D Embossing Folder so the bottom 1-3/4" of the cardstock where the heat embossed sentiment is hangs out the bottom of the folder. Place the folder with the paper inside on your die cutting and embossing tool and run through the machine. Set aside to dry.
Rub the Embossing Buddy across the 2-1/2" Whisper White square.
Mount the cake with flowers image from the Happy Birthday To You Set on Block E. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 2-1/2" white square so you get all of the actual cake image. Don't worry about getting all of the flowers, you are going to cut them off anyway! Leave the stamp on the block.
Lay the stamped cardstock on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some Shimmer White Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers the stamped image. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Tip: I use a fine-tip paintbrush to knock off any excess powder that is stuck anywhere I don't want it.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted.
Tip: Use a clothespin to hold the cardstock while using the Heat Tool to avoid burning your fingers.
Pick out the cake with flowers die from the Birthday Dies. Put it on top of the cake image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the image is centered. Run through the tool.
Use Paper Snips to cut off the cake stand at the bottom of the stamped cake with flowers image and to cut off the flowers around the top and sides of the stamped cake with flowers image.
Rub the Embossing Buddy across the 2-3/4" Whisper White square.
Re-ink the cake with flowers image on Block E with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 2-3/4" white square so you get all of the flowers image. Don't worry about getting all of the cake, you are going to cut it off anyway!

Pick out the flowers die from the Birthday Dies. Put it on top of the heat embossed flowers image on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the image is centered. Run through the tool.
Use the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to paint some shimmer onto the buds and petals of the heat embossed flowers on the cut out.
Use Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the flowers cut out to the top of the cake cut out so it covers any of the flowers still showing on the cake.
Pick out the cake stand die from the Birthday Dies. Put it on top of the Silver Foil Sheet rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the image is centered. Run through the tool. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Note: The lines in the foot and leg of the cake stand do NOT cut out. They just emboss.
Use Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the cake cut out along the bottom edge to adhere it to the center of the cake stand cut out on the top.
If the dry and heat embossed large white rectangle is dry, proceed with the next step.
Tip: You can speed up drying with a Heat Tool if needed.
Adhere the strip of Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Paper to the dry and heat embossed large white rectangle so it is just above the heat embossed sentiment and covers the seam between the dry embossed and smooth areas of the cardstock.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the rectangle so it covers the top seam between the white cardstock and the designer paper. Secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add SNAIL to the back of the white rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Whisper White Thick card.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cake on the stand to the front of the card on the left side so the bulge in the leg of the cake stand is centered over the ribbon.
Cut a 3" piece of Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the card front so it is centered over the bulge in the leg of the cake stand.
