G reat size gift bag for a set of cards, jewelry or even a scarf with finished size 8" x 4.5" or 7.5" x 5.5" depending if you show the 1/2" of the 2nd side of the DSP across the top or down the side.
Project Recipe
1 - 12 x 12 Double Sided DSP
The pattern you want on the outside should be facing up, score at 1/2" and cut at 1" and do this two times, as these will be the handles for the bag. Round the 4 corners of each handle tape together the length of each handle except the last 1.5" on each end which will stay flat and attach to the outside of the bag when the bag is completed.
You now have a 10" x 12" piece to make the base of the bag. Rotate the paper so the 12" side is across the top and score at 5", 6" and 7". If you want the 2nd side of the DSP to show around the top of the bag also score at 1/2" and 11 1/2" same direction as the scores at 5, 6 & 7. If you want the 2nd side to show down the sides rotate it back to the 10" side across the top and score at 1/2" and 9 1/2". Burnish all score lines. Cut in 3" on the 5" and 7" score lines on both sides. Fold the two flaps in to keep them away from the side seams.
Use Score-tape or another strong double sided adhesive and overlap the edges 1/2 to 3/4".
Bring the center flaps back down and attach to the inside of the overlap area, to cover the openings in the bottom.
Attach the 1.5" flat part of the straps to the outside of the bag.
