I made this graduation card-in-a-box for a friend. The card base or box is made using a half sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" piece of card stock.
Project Recipe
Template attached.
Step 1: Cut a card base measuring 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" (half sheet of 8-1/2" x 11") piece of cardstock.
I used Smokey Slate Stampin' Up! cardstock.
Step 2: Using a score board, with the 8-1/2" side at the top, score at: 2", 4", 6", 8" . Refer to template.
Step 3: turn the cardstock with the short side at the top and with the 1/2" score mark at the bottom.
Step 4: Line up the score line in the paper trimmer.
Step 5: Only cut down to the score line at 2-1/2". You can see in the photo where your guide should be (at the 2-1/2" mark).
Step 6: Slid the paper over to cut the next 2 score lines in the same way as Step 5. REMEMBER to only cut down to the 2-1/2" score line. When your done, there should be 3 flaps.
Step 7: You will then cut a small strip away from the 1/2" score line and make a small diagonal cut on the 1/2" flap. Refer to photo and/or template.
Step 8: You will then want to fold form your box. Use some adhesive on the 1/2" flap and attach to the inside of the box.
Step 9: Then decorate as you want.
The measurements for the flaps are at the bottom of the attached template in Step 1.
