P retty Christmas card using heat embossing and Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, vellum, and foil sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Garden Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of lines of tiny gold dots on vanilla backgroun design from Season Of Green & Gold 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" of Mossy Meadow Cardstock
- 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" of pine boughs vellum from Graceful Greenery Vellum 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/4" x 2-3/4" silver foil from Brushed Silver & Gold Foil 12" x 12" Specialty Paper
Adhere the piece of tiny gold dots Season Of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Paper to the front of the Garden Green card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Golden Greenery Set or the Greetings Of The Season Set, place the cardstock or foil sheet on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Rub the Embossing Buddy included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit over the bottom right corner of the vertical Mossy Meadow rectangle.
Mount the script "season's greetings" sentiment from the Greetings Of The Season Set on Block C. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the vertical Mossy Meadow rectangle.
Lay the VersaMark stamped rectangle in the center of the Powder Pal included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Sprinkle on some gold powder from the Metallics Wow! Embossing Powder so it covers the entire sentiment. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool on the highest setting until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use the Crafting Tweezers included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit to hold the cardstock while you are heating it so you don't burn your fingers.
Carefully tear the lower right corner off of the vertical Graceful Greenery Vellum Specialty Designer Paper rectangle so the tear goes from the bottom left corner up to about 2-1/4" along the right side.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue along the centers of the pine bough images on the back side of the torn vellum piece to adhere it over the top of the heat embossed sentiment Mossy Meadow rectangle. Make sure all of the sentiment shows below the torn area. The top, left, and right sides of the cardstock and vellum will be even.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the gold ribbon from the Gold & Silver 1/8" Trim Combo Pack.
Lay the ribbon horizontally across the top of the layered cardstock/vellum rectangle about 1/2" from the top. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Mossy Meadow rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the card in the center.
Mount the more solid, large bell image from the Golden Greenery Set on Block C. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the silver foil rectangle.
Mount the more solid, small bell image from the Golden Greenery Set on Block B. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it on the other end of the silver foil rectangle.
Lay the VersaMark stamped foil rectangle in the center of the Powder Pal included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Sprinkle on some gold powder from the Metallics Wow! Embossing Powder so it covers all of the stamped images completely.
Pick out the matching, open large and small bell dies and the line of 5 small dots die from the Golden Greenery Dies. Put the bell dies on top of the heat embossed bells on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so they are centered over the images. Put the line of dots die along one edge so you'll cut out at least 2 little circles. Do NOT let the dies overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Adhere the bell cut outs to the upper left corner of the card front as shown so they appear to be hanging from the ribbon and overlap each other a bit.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the two little circles to the bottoms of the bells as clappers.
Cut a 9" piece of the gold ribbon from the Gold & Silver 1/8" Trim Combo Pack.
Tie a small bow in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon bow to the front of the card as shown so it is at a slight angle and is centered over the ribbon already on the card front just above the tops of the bells.
