P layful birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Real Red Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 2" x 5" of dark green scalloped lines on light green background design from Tutti-frutti 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the lines are horizontal
- 2-5/8" x 4-1/8" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 1-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- strip of Berry Burst Cardstock at least 3-1/2" long
- strips of Whisper White Cardstock at least 1" wide
- strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock about 1/16" wide and 1" to 2" long
Adhere the 2-1/2" x 4" piece of Whisper White to the center of the Garden Green rectangle.
WITHOUT adhering it, lay the piece of Tutti-frutti Designer Paper on the left side of the Real Red card front so it is 1/4" from the top, bottom, and left edges.
Put the white/green matted rectangle upside down in front of you (so all you see is green). Put some SNAIL down the RIGHT side of the back of the white/green matted rectangle. Turn the white/green matted rectangle over so you see the white layer and adhere the matted rectangle to the designer paper so it overlaps the designer paper about 1-1/8" on the right side and is about 3/8" up from the bottom of the designer paper.
Remove the designer paper and matted white/green layers from the card front. Put the Real Red card to the side for the moment.
Cut a 6" piece of Real Red 1/8" Solid Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the cardstock and designer paper so it is about 1/8" in from the left side of the white layer. Flip the designer paper/cardstock over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of the designer paper/cardstock. Adhere it to the front of the Real Red card.
As you are ready to stamp on each piece of cardstock using the Fruit Basket Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the solid bowl image from the Fruit Basket Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Berry Burst Ink Pad. Stamp in the center of the small white rectangle.
Mount the outline bowl image from the Fruit Basket Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped bowl image.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the bowl image by hand.
Adhere the cut out bowl to the card front so it is centered on the white layer between the right edge of the white layer and the ribbon and about 1/2" up from the bottom of the white layer.
Mount the "happy birthday to you!" sentiment from the Fruit Basket Set on Block H. Carefully ink up only the words "happy birthday" using the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the strip of Berry Burst Cardstock.
Tip: I used Real Red to ink up my sentiment, but the Garden Green will show up much better and be easier to use.
Unlock the Classic Label Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch. Center the sentiment in the punching area. Punch.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the really thin strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock to the center of the back of the sentiment punch out so the strip is pointing down. Add another Mini Stampin' Dimensional to each end of the punch out.
Remove the protective backings on the Mini Stampin' Dimensionals and adhere the sentiment sign to the front of the card so it is at a slight downward angle about 1/4" from the top of the white layer on the card front. The right edge of the sign should just about touch the right side of the white layer and the stick should be pointing down at a slight angle to the bottom left.
Mount the solid melon rind image from the Fruit Basket Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it on a strip of white cardstock so the curve of the rind is on the bottom. Stamp again without re-inking. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it again and stamp again without re-inking. Repeat until you have stamped about 15 or 16 rinds. Remember to have the curve of the rind on the bottom.
Tip: Be very careful when cleaning this little stamp with the Stampin' Scrub. If you scrub too hard, the stamp can come off the block and go flying! Since it is photopolymer and completely clear, it can be very difficult to find!
Mount the solid melon center image from the Fruit Basket Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Sweet Sugarplum Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of some of the light colored rinds. Clean the stamp with the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub. Leave it on the block.
Tip: Be very careful when cleaning this little stamp with the Stampin' Scrub. If you scrub too hard, the stamp can come off the block and go flying! Since it is photopolymer and completely clear, it can be very difficult to find!
Re-ink the melon center image with the Berry Burst Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of some of the light and dark colored rinds.
Re-ink the melon center image with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining dark colored rinds. Clean the stamp with the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub and put it away.
Tip: Be very careful when cleaning this little stamp with the Stampin' Scrub. If you scrub too hard, the stamp can come off the block and go flying! Since it is photopolymer and completely clear, it can be very difficult to find!
Unlock the melon/citrus slice punch from the Itty Bitty Fruit Punch Pack. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide one of the stamped melons into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch. Repeat with the other melon images.
Pick out one Real Red melon slice and adhere it at a slight angle to the bottom right side of the bowl using a Mini Stampin' Dimensional.
Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere most of the rest of the melon slices in a pile on top of the bowl image. Slide a couple of the melons at the bottom of the pile under the rim of the bowl. Adhere three of the melon slices to the pile using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. Make sure you cover the end of the stick on the sign.
Cut a 3" piece of Real Red 1/8" Solid Ribbon. Slide one end under the ribbon on the card front near the top left corner of the white layer. Tie it in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
