Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Pretty Peacock Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Lost Lagoon Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 2-3/4" from Lost Lagoon Cardstock
- 1" x 2-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
Place the large white rectangle vertically on some Grid Paper on your work surface. Use a pen or pencil to mark on the Grid Paper where the two upper corners of the cardstock are located.
Pick out the large tree trunk mask from the Frosted Forest Decorative Masks. Place it over the cardstock so the tree trunk is centered side to side and the top of the tree trunk is about 3/4" from the top and the little notch at the top of the mask is in the upper right corner. Use a pen or pencil to mark the notch on the Grid Paper.
Tip: If desired, use a piece of washi tape to hold the mask in place.
Rub a Small Blending Brush across the open Copper Clay Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush all over the openings in the tree trunk mask. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Carefully remove the mask.
Pick out the more open, large tree top mask from the Frosted Forest Decorative Masks. Place it over the cardstock so the mask is centered over the tree trunk image and the notch in the upper right corner of the mask lines up with the notch mark you drew on the Grid Paper.
Tip: If desired, use a piece of washi tape to hold the mask in place.
Rub a different Small Blending Brush across the open Lost Lagoon Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush all over the openings in the tree top mask. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Carefully remove the mask.
Pick out the more detailed, large tree top mask from the Frosted Forest Decorative Masks. Place it over the cardstock so the mask is centered over the tree trunk image and the notch in the upper right corner of the mask lines up with the notch mark you drew on the Grid Paper.
Tip: If desired, use a piece of washi tape to hold the mask in place.
Rub a different Small Blending Brush across the open Pretty Peacock Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush all over the openings in the detailed tree top mask. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Carefully remove the mask.
As you are ready to stamp using the Frosted Forest Set or the Unbound Love Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large tree image from the Frosted Forest Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the masked tree image on the white rectangle being careful to line up the trunks.
Put the more open, large tree top mask back over the cardstock so the mask will let you add additional color as needed to the edges of the tree top image. Use the Small Blending Brush with the Lost Lagoon Ink on it to add more color as needed. Move the mask around a little bit adding more color until you get the coverage you want.
Tip: If desired, use a piece of washi tape to hold the mask in place.
Carefully remove the mask.
Tip: I just clean my masks and Small Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Mount the bird image from the Frosted Forest Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Lost Lagoon Ink Pad. Stamp it on the stamped and masked tree image rectangle just below the tree on the left side. Leave the stamp on the block.
Adhere the stamped and masked tree rectangle to the center of the large Lost Lagoon rectangle.
Cut a 4-3/4" piece of the Pretty Peacock & Gold 3/8" Metallic Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon horizontally across the bottom of the layered, stamped, and masked white rectangle so it covers the bottom of the tree trunk . Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Lost Lagoon rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Pretty Peacock card.
Mount the "celebrate" sentiment from the Unbounded Love Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining, skinny strip of Lost Lagoon Cardstock.
Pick out the skinny rectangle label with notches on the ends die from the Unbounded Love Dies. Put it on top of the sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment. Run through the machine.
Use Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the sentiment cut out to adhere it to the center of the ribbon on the card front as shown.
Re-ink the bird image on Block B with the Lost Lagoon Ink Pad. Stamp it two times on the remaining strip of white cardstock. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time and leave room between the images to cut them out with the dies.
Pick out both of the matching, open bird dies from the Frosted Forest Dies. Put them on top of the stamped bird images on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so they are centered over the images. Do NOT let the dies overlap. Run through the machine.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the bird cut outs to the front of the card as shown.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Pretty Peacock & Gold 3/8" Metallic Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card at a slight angle as shown so it covers the right side of the sentiment cut out.
