Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Purple Posy Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Seaside Spray Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White or Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 3-3/4" from Purple Posy Cardstock
- 2" square from Whisper White Cardstock or Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 2-1/2" from Seaside Spray Cardstock
- 1/2" x 3" from Purple Posy Cardstock
Insert the large white rectangle into the Seabed 3D Embossing Folder. Use the line drawn on the front flap of the folder to help line the cardstock up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Peel the wrapper completely off of a white crayon. Place the dry embossed white rectangle on your work surface on top of some Grid Paper and rub all over the raised surface of the white cardstock using the side of the white crayon. Press fairly hard. Leave the dry embossed white rectangle with crayon rubbed all over it on your work surface on top of some Grid Paper.
Unscrew the large flat brush tip Water Painter and fill the barrel with water before screwing the tip back in place.
Tip: The Water Painters unscrew in the opposite direction of what you'd expect.
Squeeze the lid of the Seaside Spray Ink Pad to get a pool of ink in the lid. Open the pad but leave the lid exposed. Add more ink to the lid if needed using the Seaside Spray Ink Refill. Gently squeeze the large, flat brush Water Painter to get some drops of water in the lid. Stir the ink and water together with the brush tip. Pick up some watery ink from the lid using the brush tip. Swish the watery ink across the dry embossed, crayon covered white rectangle until the entire rectangle is covered. Get more watery ink on the brush tip as needed. Use a clean tissue to dab up excess watery ink. It should have pooled slightly on top of the crayoned, raised areas and left those areas with little or no color. Set the watercolored, dry embossed rectangle aside to let it dry completely. Swipe the brush tip of the Water Painter across some Grid Paper several times to remove the color.
Tip: To more thoroughly clean the Water Painter, run the brush tip under running water and squeeze water through the tip until the water runs clear.
As you are ready to stamp using the Friends Are Like Seashells Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the conch image from the Friends Are Like Seashells Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Seaside Spray Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the large Purple Posy rectangle.
Pick out the large, detailed shells and seaweed die from the Seaside Seashells Dies. Put it on top of the stamped conch image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the conch image is centered in the corresponding area of the die. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and Take Your Pick to remove the pieces if needed. Leave the die out.
Use Paper Snips as needed to cut the conch image loose from the rest of the die cut.
Place the conch cut out inside the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder so it is centered inside the corresponding area of the folder so the stamped image and the logos on the front of the folder can all be seen. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Mount the sand dollar image from the Friends Are Like Seashells Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Seaside Spray Ink Pad. Stamp onto Grid Paper. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp the image in the center of the small white square.
Pick out the mostly round, sand dollar die from the Seaside Seashells Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sand dollar on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the image is centered in the die. Run through the tool.
Place the large, detailed shells and seaweed die from the Seaside Seashells Dies on top of the small Seaside Spray rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the feathery seaweed at the top of the die to the right of the conch cutting area is centered on top of the cardstock. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use Paper Snips to cut off excess cardstock and trim the seaweed cut out down.
Unlock the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin Purple Posy strip into the left side of the punch (the side of the punch with the more rounded label top) as far as it will go. Punch.
Mount the "thank you" sentiment from the Friends Are Like Seashells Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad. Stamp it on the right end of the punched Purple Posy strip so the punched end of the strip is on the right side. Leave about 1/2" from the end of the sentiment to the edge of the punched strip.
Use Paper Snips to cut off the left end of the punched sentiment strip so there is about 1/2" between the left end of the sentiment and the left edge of the strip.
Once the watercolored, crayon resist white rectangle is dry, proceed with the next step.
Tip: You can speed up drying using a Heat Tool if needed.
Adhere the watercolored, crayon resist white rectangle to the center of the large Seaside Spray rectangle and then to the front of the Purple Posy card.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the seaweed cut out, sand dollar cut out, conch cut out, and stamped sentiment strip on the front of the card in the lower left corner as shown to figure out placement. Leave room between the sand dollar and sentiment strip to put a scallop Seaside Shells sticker in place.
When happy with the arrangement of pieces, adhere them in place one a time. Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the seaweed cut out in place. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the conch cut out in place. Remove a Seaside Spray scallop shell sticker from a sheet of Seaside Shells. Adhere it to the front of the card as shown. Make sure the left end of the sentiment strip is tucked under the bottom tip of the conch shell.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a small round from a sheet of Opal Rounds making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the right end of the punched sentiment strip.
Cut a 2-1/2" piece of the Seaside Spray 1/4" Metallic Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card on the bottom left side of the conch cut out.
