C ute cards using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Flirty Flamingo or Daffodil Delight Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 5-1/4" from Flirty Flamingo or Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-3/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
Place the Stitched Greenery Die cutting side up on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Place the large Granny Apple Green rectangle on top of the die. Run through the machine.
Tip: Because the die is so big, I found it easier to put the die on the platform face up and then put the cardstock on top of it so I could make sure the cardstock was straight and properly positioned.
As you are ready to stamp using the Friendly Gnomes Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "There's Gnome-one better than you" sentiment from the Friendly Gnomes Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the left side of the horizontal 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" white strip so it is about 1/2" from the left side.
Adhere the stamped white strip to the center of the Flirty Flamingo or Daffodil Delight strip. The left and right edges will be even.
Adhere the matted sentiment strip to the bottom of the horizontal, stitched leaf Granny Apple Green rectangle so it is about 1/2" from the bottom. The left and right side will be even.
Adhere the matted Granny Apple Green rectangle to the front of the matching color card (Flirty Flamingo or Daffodil Delight).
Mount the female gnome with braids image from the Friendly Gnomes Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small Basic White rectangle.
Pick out the matching gnome die from the Gnomes Dies. Put it on top of the stamped gnome image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Tip: It is often better to cut images out with dies before spending all the time to color them in. That way if the dies slip during the cutting process, you haven't wasted a lot of time on the coloring.
Place the gnome cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Flirty Flamingo or Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's shirt sleeves, collar, and bit of shirt between collar and apron and along bottom of apron.
Use the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's apron and the buttons at the top of the gnome's shoes.
Use the Light and Dark Flirty Flamingo or Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's hat.
Use the Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's hands, face, and bit of foot showing in top of shoes. Remember the lower the number of the Marker the darker the tone.
Use the darker Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's shoes.
Use the Natural Tones Stampin' Blends and/or Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color the gnome's braids.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Adhere the colored gnome cut out to the front of the card so it is about 1-1/4" from the right side and the bottom of the shoes are even with the bottom of the colored strip of cardstock matting the sentiment strip.
Pick out the tuft of grass die from the Gnomes Dies. Put it on top of one end of the thin Granny Apple Green strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Repeat on the other end of the strip so you have two tufts of grass cut outs.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere one tuft of grass cut out to the front of the card so the bottom is even with the bottom of the colored cardstock strip matting the sentiment strip and the right edge touches the right edge of the matted white sentiment strip.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the other tuft of grass cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the right side of the gnome cut out a bit, the left side of the first tuft of grass cut out, and the bottom is even with the bottom of the colored cardstock strip matting the sentiment strip.
Carefully pick out two different sizes of little flower and leaf embellishments from the Loose Daisy Embellishments. Use yellow ones for the Daffodil Delight card and white ones for the Flirty Flamingo card.
Put two tiny dots of Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen over the flower on the gnome's hat. Adhere the Loose Daisy Embellishments to the dots of liquid glue.
