B ox from OnStage April 2019 decorated with a tag using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
To make the tag, cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- 2" x 3-3/4" from Pretty Peacock Cardstock
- 2" x 4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 3/4" x 2-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2 strips each 1" x 3" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2" from Flirty Flamingo Cardstock
Unlock the Delightful Tag Topper Punch. One at a time, slide one short end of the large Crumb Cake and Pretty Peacock pieces into the punch as far as they will go and punch.
Mount the birds on a branch image from the Free As A Bird Set on Block I. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it on top of the Pretty Peacock tag so the three birds together are on the tag.
Lay the stamped tag on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some White Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers the stamped image. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (smooth and shiny).
Tip: Use a clothespin to hold the cardstock while using the Heat Tool to avoid burning your fingers.
Unlock the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch. Slide one long side of one of the Crumb Cake strips into the punch so it butts up against the guide at the back of the punch. Punch. Slide the punched cardstock over a little bit and line up the punched area with the silver design printed on the base of the punch. Punch again. Repeat until the entire length has been punched. Repeat with the other Crumb Cake strip.
Tip: I sometimes find it easier to line things up with this punch if I turn the punch over so I can see the punching area. I then line up the punched areas with the designs of the punch before punching again.
Mount the "thank you" sentiment from the Free As A Bird Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white strip towards the left side.
Using SNAIL Adhesive, adhere the punched Crumb Cake strips to the back of the stamped white sentiment strip on the top and bottom so only the little bumps really show.
Using SNAIL Adhesive, adhere the matted sentiment strip to the bottom of the Pretty Peacock tag so the sentiment is on the left side. Use Paper Snips to trim off excess cardstock on the sides.
Mount the large flower image from the Free As A Bird Set on Block A. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it on one side of the Flirty Flamingo strip.
Mount the small flower image from the Free As A Bird Set on Block A. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it on the other side of the Flirty Flamingo strip.
Lay the stamped flowers on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some White Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers the stamped images. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (smooth and shiny).
Tip: Use a clothespin to hold the cardstock while using the Heat Tool to avoid burning your fingers.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the embossed flowers by hand.
Use SNAIL to adhere the small flower to the tag so it overlaps the upper right side of the matted white sentiment strip a bit.
Use a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the large flower to the tag on the right side of the matted white sentiment strip so it overlaps the bottom of the small flower a bit.
Use SNAIL to adhere the Pretty Peacock tag to the Crumb Cake tag at a slight angle.
Tie some Pretty Peacock 1/2" Scalloped Linen Ribbon around your gift box using a knot. Trim the ends.
Cut a 10" piece of the Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine.
Fold the twine in half. Stick the folded ends of the twine through the ribbon hole in the top of the tag from the front side. Feed the two loose ends of the twine through the loop in the twine and pull it tight.
Tie the two loose ends of the twine to the knot in the ribbon using a small bow. Trim the ends.
