Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool and Paper Snips:
- card from Mossy Meadow Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" of pink and white magnolia buds on black background design from Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper
- 1" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1/4" x 5-1/2" from Mossy Meadow Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" from Mossy Meadow Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- magnolia bud roughly cut out with Paper Snips from pink and white magnolia buds on black background design from Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper
Adhere the large piece of Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper to the center of the front of the Mossy Meadow card.
Mount the "with sympathy" sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Mossy Meadow Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the long white strip of cardstock.
Cut a 5-1/4" piece of Petal Pink 5/8" Organdy Striped Ribbon.
Run a line of SNAIL Adhesive down the long, bottom edge of the stamped white strip on the back side. Adhere the piece of ribbon to the back of the stamped white strip so about 1/2" of the ribbon shows.
Adhere the strip of white cardstock with ribbon attached to the card front so it is centered side to side and the bottom of the ribbon is about 1/2" from the bottom of the card.
Adhere the long, thin strip of Mossy Meadow Cardstock to the card front so it covers the seam between the ribbon and the bottom of the stamped white cardstock.
Pick out the small, open magnolia bloom die from the Magnolia Memory Dies. Put it on top of the white rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Pick out the detailed magnolia bloom die from the Magnolia Memory Dies. Put it on top of the Mossy Meadow rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and/or paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Mulitpurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the detailed, Mossy Meadow magnolia cut out to the center of the solid white magnolia cut out.
Put the layered magnolia cut outs on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends to color in the white petals on the layered magnolia cut outs.
Adhere the colored, layered magnolia cut outs to the front of the card so they overlap the top of the white sentiment strip near the center at a slight angle.
Pick out the open magnolia bud die from the Magnolia Memory Dies. Put it on top of the roughly cut out magnolia bud from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the bud is centered in the die. Run through the tool.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the bud cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the top of the white sentiment strip and the magnolia bloom cut outs at a slight angle.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of Petal Pink 5/8" Organdy Striped Ribbon.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Mossy Meadow Linen Thread from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.
Use the Linen Thread to tightly pinch the center of the organdy ribbon together. Tie a knot in the Linen Thread. Trim the ends of the Linen Thread. Trim the ends of the ribbon into angles.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the pinched ribbon to the front of the card so it is at a slight angle centered over the thin strip of Mossy Meadow just below the "y" in the word "sympathy."
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a clear flower from a sheet of Frosted Flower Embellishments making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the ribbon where it is pinched together.
