Project Recipe
Cut cardstock to the following dimensions:
Night of Navy 11" x 5 1/2"
Whisper White 11" x 5 3/8"
Night of Navy 11" x 1 1/2", need 2
Balmy Blue 10 7/8" x 1 3/8", need 2
Balmy Blue 5 3/8" x 3 1/2"
Whisper White 5 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Soft Suede 3" x 3"
Score the Night of Navy 11" x 5 1/2", at 1 3/4", 3 1/2", 7 1/2" and 9 1/4"
Using the sponge brayer, sponge Balmy Blue ink along the top and bottom 1 1/4" of the 11" x 5 3/8" Whisper White panel.
Punch out a circle using a 1 1/2" Circle punch and a sticky note.
Place the sticky note, with the hole in it, onto the center of the Whisper White panel having the bottom part of the circle extend about an 1/4" into the sponged Balmy Blue bottom.
Using Crushed Curry ink and a piece of Stampin' sponge color in the circle. Remove the sticky note and place the circle from the sticky note over the Crushed Curry sun.
Using Mango Melody ink and a piece of Stampin' sponge color around the circle. Remove the circle sticky note from the sun. Slightly blend a little Mango Melody into the Crushed Curry sun.
Using Calypso Coral ink and a piece of Stampin' sponge color around the Mango Melody slightly overlapping the two colors.
Using Balmy Blue ink and a piece of Stampin' sponge color around the Calypso Coral slightly overlapping the two colors.
Using Night of Navy ink and a piece of Stampin' sponge color around the Balmy Blue slightly overlapping the two colors. Make sure you color all the way to the edges of the Whisper White panel with the Night of Navy.
Using the wave stamp from the High Tide stamp set and Night of Navy ink, stamp one of the Balmy Blue 10 7/8" x 1 3/8" panels to make the waves.
Using the Sponge Brayer, sponge Balmy Blue ink onto the remaining Balmy Blue 10 7/8" x 1 3/8" panel.
Using Night of Navy ink and a Stampin' sponge color in about an inch and a half on both sides of the Balmy Blue panel you just added the Balmy Blue ink to.
Stamp the birds onto this same panel using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the flying birds from the High Tide stamp set.
Adhere the Balmy Blue 10 7/8" x 1 3/8" panels onto the Night of Navy 11" x 1 1/2" panels.
Score these panels at 1 3/4", 3 1/2", 5 1/4" and 7"
Cut the Whisper White 11" x 5 3/8" panel at 1 5/8", 1 5/8", 3 7/8", 1 5/8" and 1 5/8" make sure you keep the panels in the order that they were cut from the main piece.
Adhere the Whisper White panels to the Night of Navy panel. You will have a small 5/8" wide piece left over, save this for the back of the card.
Adhere the 11" x 1 1/2" panel with the birds to the top of the card, making sure that the pieces line up together at the top.
Adhere the 11" x 1 1/2" panel with the water to the bottom of the card, making sure that the two piece line up together at the bottom.
If the top panel has the 7" section on the right side of the card then the bottom panel should have the 7" section on the left side of the card.
Stamp the lighthouse, sailboats, anchor and compass onto Whisper White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Cut each out using the coordinating Smooth Sailing die.
Color the anchor with Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends.
Using Silver Foil sheet cut out the anchor using the Smooth Sailing anchor die.
Adhere the cardstock anchor to the Silver Foil sheet anchor.
Add a piece of Crumb Cake Nature's Twine to the anchor.
Using Basic Black cardstock and the dial die from the Smooth Sailing die, cut out the dial for the compass.
Attach the dial to the compass using a Metallic Brad that has been colored with a black permanent marker.
Color the sailboats as desired, as well as, the lighthouse.
Adhere the lighthouse to the left side of the card and the compass and anchor to the right hand side of the card.
Cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock 2 3/8" x 1", score and fold each end at 1/4". You will need two of these.
Adhere these two panels to the inside of the box that is formed on the left hand side. See picture.
Using a small amount of adhesive, adhere one of the sailboats to each of these two panels.
Adhere the other sailboat to the actual card panel.
Stamp the birds flying in the sun using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the bird stamp from the Sailing Home stamp set.
Stamp the sentiment using Night of Navy ink and the Happy Father's Day stamp from the Geared Up Garage stamp set onto the remaining Balmy Blue panel.
Cut out the boat wheel using Soft Suede cardstock and the boat wheel die from the Smooth Sailing die. Add a metallic brad to the center of the wheel and adhere to the lower right hand corner of the panel.
Adhere the panel onto the back of the card.
Adhere the left over 5/8" piece of cardstock to the left hand side of the back panel.
