B right and cheery card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Granny Apple Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-3/4" x 5-3/4" of one of the pink designs from the Tropical Escape 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 3" square from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 3" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2" x 3" from Whisper White Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Tropical Escape Designer Paper to the front of the Granny Apple Green card so an equal amount of green shows on the right and left sides of the designer paper. Trim off any excess designer paper on top and bottom of the card using Paper Snips.
As you are ready to stamp using the Fabulous Flamingo Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper or scratch paper on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Mount any of the sentiments from the Fabulous Flamingo Set except for the "congratulations" on Block B. Ink it up with the Blushing Bride Ink Pad. BEFORE stamping, rock the bottom of the inky sentiment onto the open Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp it in the upper right corner of the white square.
Tip: If you are making multiples of this card, be sure to clean the sentiment stamp between cards using the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub or you may get red ink on your pink ink pad!
Pick out the straight edged square die that cuts out a 2-3/8" square from the Layering Squares Dies. Place the stamped sentiment on the white square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the square die on top so the sentiment is in the upper right corner. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Mount the tropical leaf image from the Fabulous Flamingo Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp the leaf image a few times so it appears to be coming out of the lower left corner of the sentiment square. Re-ink the stamp every so often. Let some of the images go off the square.
Pick out the scallop edged square die that cuts out a 2-3/4" scalloped square from the Layering Squares Dies. Place the Granny Apple Green square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the scalloped square die on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the stamped white square to the center of the green scalloped square. Then adhere them to the front of the card so they are about ½” from the right side and ¾” from the bottom.
Mount the solid bird top image from the Fabulous Flamingo Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Blushing Bride Ink Pad. Stamp it on the rectangle of white cardstock.
Mount the outline bird top image (no legs) from the Fabulous Flamingo Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped bird image.
Cut out the bird image by hand using Paper Snips.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cut out bird to the card front so it overlaps the lower left corner of the squares and the tail feathers touch the lower left side of the designer paper.
Cut a 3-1/2” piece of Poppy Parade 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the card front at a slight angle at the base of the bird's neck.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick tool to pick up 2 Granny Apple Green and 1 Melon Mambo glimmer enamel dots being sure to get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the upper right corner of the card front.
