F un celebration card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Berry Burst Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 4" of white diamond lattice on black background design from Petal Passion Designer Series Paper
- 4-1/2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
Place the piece of Petal Passion Designer Series Paper on Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Roll the Sponge Brayer across the open Berry Burst Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, roll it repeatedly onto the piece designer paper. Get more ink on the brayer as needed. Keep adding ink until you have the color saturation you want.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Brayers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Adhere the piece of altered designer paper to the bottom of the Basic Black rectangle.
Mount the shoes image from the Epic Celebrations Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad. Stamp in the center of the large white square about 1" from the top.
Pick out the stitched square framelit from the Stitched Shapes Framelits that cuts out a 2-5/8" square. Place the shoe stamped white square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the stitched square framelit on top so it forms a diamond around the shoes with the shoes as close to the top of the diamond as possible. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Squeeze the lid of the Berry Burst Ink Pad to get a pool of ink in the lid. Open the pad but leave the lid exposed. Use a Blender Pen to pick up some ink from the puddle in the lid and color in parts of the shoes. Pick up more ink from the pad lid as needed. Remember to stroke the Blender Pen in one direction only. If you go back and forth, then the card stock could start to pill and tear. Scribble on Grid Paper to clean the tip of the Blender Pen until no more color is coming off.
Adhere the shoe diamond to the top of the Basic Black/altered designer paper rectangle so the top, left, and right tips of the diamond are about 1/8" from the edges of the black layer.
Cut a 5" piece of Berry Burst 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the cardstock/designer paper layers so it covers the seam between the black cardstock and altered designer paper and goes across the bottom of the shoe diamond. Flip the cardstock over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of the cardstock. Adhere it to the front of the Berry Burst card.
Mount the "Here's to an Epic Celebration" sentiment on Block B. Ink it up with the Berry Burst Ink Pad. Stamp in the center of the small white square.
Pick out the stitched square framelit from the Stitched Shapes Framelits that cuts out a 1-3/16" square. Place the sentiment stamped white square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the stitched square framelit on top so it forms a diamond around the sentiment. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment diamond to the card front so it is centered over the ribbon in the center of the bottom of the shoe diamond.
Cut a 4" piece of Berry Burst 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center. Trim the ends.
Adhere at a slight angle to the ribbon on the right side of the sentiment diamond using a Mini Glue Dot.
