Project Recipe
Measurements
Card base - 4 3/16" x 9", score at 5 1/2"
Strip for "doors" - 2 x 8 1/2", score at 2 1/8" from both ends
DSP - 4" x 3 1/4" - card front top
- 2 - 1 7/8" for front of "doors"
- 6" x 2 1/2" to decorate envelope
flap
Inside - 4" x 5 3/8"
Basic White - 3" x 3 3/4" - For solid oval
Gold - 3" x 3 3/4" for gold oval frame
- 1" x 1 1/4" for gold leaf
Take card base and burnish on the score line. Attach the 4 x 3 1/4" piece of DSP to the top flap.
Burnish the 2" x 8 1/2" strip. Apply adhesive to the center section of this strip. Do not apply adhesive to the end pieces.
Position the strip at the bottom of the card base. This creates the "door" piece to the card.
Attach the 2 - 1 7/8" squares to the front of the end flaps.
Take the solid white oval and stamp the sentiment towards the bottom of the oval. Then stamp the flower image above that. Color the stamped image with blends.
Take the 4 x 5 3/8" piece of Basic White cardstock and stamp your sentiment.
In the lower right hand corner, stamp a single flower with a leaf. Color those images with blends.
Adhere this piece to the inside of the card.
Take the Gold Oval border and position it towards the top center of the card front. Now turn it over, placing it in the same position, and notice where the bottom of the oval extends past the bottom of the card front flap.
Make 2 small pencil marks on both sides of the oval, just above where it extends past the card front. This will allow you to see where to stop when applying your adhesive (you do not apply adhesive to the entire oval border!)
Apply adhesive to the back of the Gold Oval Border (between where your pencil marks are) and attach it to the top center of the card front.
Take the stamped solid oval and turn it over so that the back side is facing you. Set it inside the gold oval frame, and once again, make a pencil mark just above where the oval extends past the bottom edge of the card front.
Place your adhesive in the area above your pencil mark (you do NOT apply adhesive to the entire oval!) Then attach the solid oval inside the border.
Snip the stem off of the end of the gold leaf. Apply a small amount of liquid glue to the center of the leaf. Attach it up against the gold frame edge.
Add embellishments.
