F un card using Stampin' Up! products and lots of texture.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Crushed Curry Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Soft Suede Cardstock
- 2-7/8" x 3-1/4" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
- 2-3/4" square from Very Vanilla Cardstock
Pick out the detailed bee thinlit from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits. Place the Soft Suede rectangle on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the detailed bee thinlit on top at a slight angle about 1/4" from the top and right sides. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces from the die. Keep the cutout bee piece and the Soft Suede rectangle.
Repeat the step above cutting out two more bees at different angles below the first bee. Keep the cutout bees and the Soft Suede rectangle.
Place the Soft Suede rectangle with the bees cut out of it inside the Hexagons 3D Dynamic Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside directly on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are using only ONE Cutting Pad. If you try to use two, the sandwich will be too thick and you could damage the Big Shot.
Adhere the textured Soft Suede rectangle to the front of the Crushed Curry card so that the bee cut outs are on the right side.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensionals behind each detailed bee cutout to adhere them inside the bee cut out areas on the Soft Suede rectangle.
Unlock the Ticket Tear Border Punch. Slide one 2-7/8" side of the Crushed Curry rectangle into the punch so it butts up against the guide at the back of the punch. Punch. Slide the punched cardstock over a little bit and line up the punched area with the silver design printed on the base of the punch. Punch again. Repeat until the entire length has been punched.
Tip: I sometimes find it easier to line things up with this punch if I turn the punch over so I can see the punching area. I then line up the punched areas with the teeth of the punch before punching again.
Mount the "Enjoy your special day!" sentiment from the Dragonfly Dreams Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it along the bottom of the Very Vanilla square.
Mount the detailed bee image from the Dragonfly Dreams Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Soft Suede Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vanilla square so there is about 3/4" of space between the bottom of the bee and the top of the sentiment.
Mount the solid bee image from the Dragonfly Dreams Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Crushed Curry Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the stamped, detailed bee image.
Adhere the stamped vanilla square to the center of the punched Crushed Curry rectangle so that the punched border is on the bottom.
Cut three lengths of Crushed Curry Solid Baker's Twine each 3-1/2" long.
Lay the twine pieces across the matted sentiment so they cross each other and are between the bottom of the bee and the sentiment. Flip the rectangle over and fold the ends of the twine pieces over. Adhere them in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the ends.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape pieces and add more SNAIL to the back of the rectangle. Adhere it to the card front on the left side.
Cut a 9" piece of Crushed Curry Solid Baker's Twine. Tie a small bow. Trim the ends. Adhere the bow to the left side of the twine on the sentiment rectangle using a Mini Glue Dot.
