P retty holder for 6" x 6" pieces of Designer Series Paper made with Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and doily pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer and Paper Snips:
- 8" x 9" from Rich Razzleberry Cardstock scored at 4" and 5" when a 9" side is along the top of the Trimmer and at 3/4" in on both other sides
- 2 pieces each 3-3/4" x 6-1/4" from Mossy Meadow Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 3- 5/8" x 6-1/8" of purple shimmery flowers and green leaves on mottled white and brown background from Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2 pieces each 3/4" x 3-3/4" from Mossy Meadow Cardstock
- half a Pearlized Doily
- 2" x 3" from Mossy Meadow Cardstock
- 2" x 3" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2" from Whisper White Cardstock
Fold along all score lines on the Rich Razzleberry Cardstock piece using a Bone Folder.
Use Paper Snips to cut along the score lines at the 4" x 5" mark only until you hit the crossing score line at the 3/4" mark on both sides of the cardstock.
Put Tear & Tape Adhesive along the outer edge of one of the 3/4" x 4" tabs on each side of the cardstock. Remove the protective backings and fold the sides together with the tiny tab on the inside to make the open topped box.
Adhere the two thin strips of Mossy Meadow Cardstock to the narrow ends of the box.
Adhere the rectangles of Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper to the large rectangles of Mossy Meadow Cardstock.
Adhere one of the matted designer paper pieces to the back of the box.
Place the other matted designer paper piece on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Use the Paper-Piercing Tool to poke a hole in the lower right corner about 7/8" in from the right side and about 3/8" up from the bottom.
Insert a large, button style copper brad from the Metallic Brads into the hole. Turn the layers over and flatten out the prongs to secure the brad in place.
Place the matted designer paper piece back on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Use the Paper-Piercing Tool to poke evenly spaced holes on either side of the brad.
Insert two small copper brads from the Metallic Brads into the holes. Turn the layers over and flatten out the prongs to secure the brads in place.
Adhere the matted designer paper with the brads in place to the front of the box.
Cut a 16" piece of Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Velvet Ribbon.
Place a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive horizontally on the front of the box about 2-3/4" up from the bottom and about 2" in from the left side. Remove the protective backing and adhere one end of the ribbon to the adhesive.
Wrap the ribbon all the way around the box. Secure it in place using small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive placed horizontally on all sides of the box and another piece at the end of the ribbon on the front of the box. Trim off any excess ribbon if needed.
Mount the "So Many of My Smiles Begin with You" oval sentiment from the Detailed With Love Set on Block D.
Roll the Sponge Brayer across the open Rich Razzleberry Ink Pad to get it inky. Then, roll it repeatedly onto the rubber stamp. Get more ink on the brayer as needed. Keep adding ink until you have the color saturation you want. Stamp on the large rectangle of Whisper White Cardstock.
Tip: This is a good way to ink up stamps that have very line lines cut into otherwise solid shapes so that you get good coverage all over the stamp but can still make out the fine lines.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Brayers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the sentiment oval by hand.
Pick out the scalloped oval framelit from the Layering Ovals Framelits that cuts out a 2-3/4" long scalloped oval. Place the small Mossy Meadow rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the scalloped oval framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the cut out sentiment oval to the center of the scalloped Mossy Meadow oval.
If you haven't already done so, cut a Pearlized Doily in half. Adhere one half to the back of the Mossy Meadow scallop circle so it sticks out on the left side. Put the other half away to use on a future project.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals behind the scalloped Mossy Meadow oval to adhere it to the front of the box on the left side so it covers the seam between the two ends of the ribbon.
Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat to protect it from ink. Place the small piece of white cardstock on the paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image when you stamp with the photopolymer Love What You Do stamp.
Mount the set of three flowers on long stems image from the Love What You Do Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Mossy Meadow Ink Pad. Stamp it on the small piece of white cardstock so you get the top two flowers. Set it aside for a moment to allow it to dry.
Use the Markers to color in the flowers. I used Rich Razzleberry on the front petals and Blackberry Bliss on the back petals.
Paint some glimmer onto the front petals using the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.
Cut out the flowers and stems with Paper Snips.
Put Mini Stampin' Dimensionals on the backs of the flowers. Remove the protective backings and adhere the flowers to the right side of the matted sentiment oval so that the bottom flower overlaps the ribbon, the top flower overlaps the ovals, and the stems are tucked under the ovals.
Pick out a triple copper leaf from the Leaves Trinkets. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere it to the box front so the stem tucks under the right side of the ovals just below the ribbon and the leaves point down at a slight angle.
Cut a 3" piece of Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Velvet Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends. Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon to the right side of the oval in line with the ribbon on the box front.
