P retty birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Whisper White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-15/16" x 5-1/4" from Lovely Lipstick Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Lovely Lipstick Cardstock
- 1-1/4" square from Lovely Lipstick Cardstock
Pick out the large, triangular grouping of flowers and leaves thinlit from the Springtime Impressions Thinlits. Build the following sandwich in this order on top of the Big Shot:
- Big Shot Platform with Thin Die Adapter removed
- white Impressions Pad from Big Shot Embossing Mats
- thick gray silicone rubber mat from Big Shot Embossing Mats
- large Lovely Lipstick rectangle
- Springtime Impressions Thinlit with cutting side down so it covers the lower left corner of the cardstock with the diagonal edge running from the upper left corner to the lower right corner
- clear Standard Cutting Pad
Run the sandwich through the Big Shot a couple of times.
Tip: This sandwich will let the detailed thinlit dry emboss the cardstock instead of cutting it.
Adhere the dry embossed Lovely Lipstick rectangle to the front of the Whisper White Thick card so the embossing is on the left side, bottom left corner, and bottom edge.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Detailed With Love Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Lovely Lipstick Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment in the center of one of the white rectangles.
Tip: If you are using one of the narrower sentiments (birthday or love), you might want to position the sentiment a little higher or lower than center so that you can stamp the squiggle image above or below it.
If needed, mount the small squiggle image from the Detailed With Love Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Lovely Lipstick Ink Pad and stamp it just above or just below the sentiment, getting as close to the sentiment as possible and making sure it is centered over or below the sentiment.
Tip: If you used one of the wider sentiments (celebrate, sweeter, or thank you), skip this step.
Pick out the oval framelit from the Layering Ovals Framelits that cuts out a 2-1/4" long oval. Place the stamped sentiment oval image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the oval framelit on top so it is centered over the sentiment. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Pick out the oval framelit from the Layering Ovals Framelits that cuts out a 2-1/2" long oval. Place the smaller Lovely Lipstick rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the oval framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Pick out the scalloped oval framelit from the Layering Ovals Framelits that cuts out a 2-3/4" long scalloped oval. Place one of the Whisper White rectangles on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the scalloped oval framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the sentiment oval to the Lovely Lipstick oval and then to the scalloped white oval. Then, adhere the matted ovals to the card front on the right side about 1" from the top.
Pick out the small, single flower thinlit from the Springtime Impressions Thinlits. Place the small square of Lovely Lipstick Cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the small, single flower thinlit on top. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the small flower cut out to the upper right of the matted ovals.
Carefully peel up a large pearl from a sheet of Pearl Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the flower cut out.
Cut a 4" piece of Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot at an angle to the front of the card on the lower left of the matted ovals.
