T his box is perfect for storing 3" x 3" cards, and you could slip in a chocolate square too. This design was inspired by Jan Brown.
Project Recipe
The box base is 6 3/4" x 10 7/8". I used Shaded Spruce card stock. Score on the short side at 1 1/2" and 5 1/4". Flip the card stock and then score at 7/8", 2 3/8", 5 7/8" and 7 3/8". Then go back and score at 1 3/8", but on score from the outside in to the 1 1/2" score line and again on the other side in to the 5 1/4" score line.
Now you will cut your panels in Whisper White card stock. You need (2) 3 3/8" x 3 5/8" pieces, (2) 3 5/8" x 1 3/8", and (2) 3 3/8" x 1 3/8".
Next cut your Designer Series Paper. I used Bird Ballad. Cut (2) 3 1/2" x 3 1/4", (2) 3 1/2" x 1 1/4" and (2) 3 1/4" x 1 1/4".
Adhere the DSP to the white card stock.
Cut along the first two score lines up to the line at 1 3/8" on both outer edges. This will create a flap for your box. Then use the corner rounder from the Trio Punch on the corners of the flaps. Finally cut along the score line at the 5 7/8" and 7 3/8" to make a flap.
Add Tear & Tape to the box as shown in the photo above.
Now start folding your box and adhering the bottom flap to the side and finish with folding the front up last. Once your box is formed you can add the DSP panels, but do not adhere the DSP panel to the bottom yet.
Use the 1/2" punch to create a notch in the front of the box. Take a 24" piece of ribbon and tie it around your box. I used the Old Olive/Pretty Peacock reversible ribbon. Now you can adhere the bottom DSP panel to the box.
Use a piece of 3" x 6" Whisper White card stock to stamp 2 daisies and punch them out with the Daisy punch. I used Lovely Lipstick ink and the Daisy Lane stamp set. I then added a Shaded Spruce leaf using the Leaf punch. I put a clear faceted gem in the middle.
