Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Lemon Lolly Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 5-1/8" of tightly clustered small oranges with leaves and flowers design from Mediterranean Blooms 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/4" x 3" from Lemon Lolly Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
Mount the "you're the best kind of person" sentiment from the Citrus Blooms Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Pumpkin Ink Pad. Stamp it in bottom right corner of the vertical, large white rectangle.
Adhere the strip of Mediterranean Blooms Designer Paper to the left side of the stamped white rectangle. The top, left, and bottom edges should be even.
Adhere the stamped cardstock with designer paper attached to the center of the Pumpkin Pie rectangle and then to the front of the Lemon Lolly card.
Mount the single orange with leaves and flowers image from the Citrus Blooms Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining white rectangle. Don't worry if some of the image goes off the left or right edges.
Pick out the postage stamp die from the Perennial Postages Dies that cuts out a rectangular postage stamp that is 2" x 2-3/4". Put it on top of the stamped orange image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the image is centered side to side and the top of the stem is near the top of the die. Run through the machine.
Tip: I find it better to cut out images before coloring them in. That way if the die slips as you are cutting you haven't wasted time and ink on the image.
Place the orange postage cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends to add color along the edges of the orange and anywhere there are shadow marks on the image.
Use the Dark and Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends to color most of the rest of the orange.
Use the Light and Dark Lemon Lolly Stampin' Blends to color in the remaining bits of the orange and to blend everything together.
Use the Light and Dark Lemon Lolly Stampin' Blends to color in the flowers and buds.
Use the Light Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends to color in the stems.
Use the Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends to color in the leaves.
Use the Color Lifter as needed to remove excess color.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored orange postage cut out to the center of the Lemon Lolly rectangle.
Adhere the matted postage stamp image to the front of the card so it overlaps the right side of the designer paper a bit and is about 5/8" from the top of the card and 3/4" from the right side of the card.
Pick out three small leaves from the Woven Golden Leaves. Use Mini Glue Dots on the base of each leaf to adhere the leaves to the card front as shown so they stick out from behind the postage stamp cut out. One leaf should stick up on the upper right side. The other two leaves should stick out on the lower left side and overlap each other a bit.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 small and 2 large Cajun Craze dots from a sheet of Faux Glass Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the card front around the sentiment as shown.
Cut a 10" piece of the gold ribbon from the Gold & Silver 1/8" Trim Combo Pack.
Tie a small bow in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon bow to the top of the stem on the front of the card as shown.
