Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Fresh Freesia Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-1/2" x 5-1/4" from Bubble Bath Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" of rows of tiny white stripes on Fresh Freesia background design from Subtles 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the stripes are vertical on the vertical rectangle
Adhere the strip of Fresh Freesia Subtles Designer Paper to the right side of the vertical card front so there is about 1/8" of cardstock showing on the top, right, and bottom edges.
Pick out the one sharp point edge die from the Basic Borders Dies. Put it on top of the Bubble Bath rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it will cut along one long edge and will cut off about 1/2" with the sharp point being centered top to bottom. Run through the machine.
As you are ready to stamp using the Circle Sayings Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the straight sentiment of choice from the Circle Sayings Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Berry Burst Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower left corner of the vertical cut Bubble Bath rectangle so the sharp point is on the right side.
Adhere the stamped and cut Bubble Bath rectangle to the left side of the vertical card front so there is about 1/8" of cardstock showing on the top, left, and bottom edges. Make sure the top and bottom edges are even with the designer paper rectangle.
Carefully punch out one small, open wing butterfly and one large, open wing butterfly from a sheet of Paper Butterfly Accents.
Place the butterfly accents on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Rub a Sponge Dauber across the open Berry Burst Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly daub the inky dauber randomly onto the butterfly accents. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed.
Use a different Sponge Dauber to add Fresh Freesia Ink by lightly daubing randomly onto the butterfly accents. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed.
Use a third Sponge Dauber to lightly rub Bubble Bath Ink all over the butterfly accents filling in all white spaces and blending the inks together. Get more ink on the Sponge Dauber as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Sponge Daubers when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen on the back of the colored butterfly accents to adhere them to the card front as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 2 small and 3 large Bubble Bath dots from a sheet of Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the front of the card as shown.
