T his technique can be a bit tricky to master, but once you get it down, they are easy to create. Watch my video tutorial for step-by-step directions at https://youtu.be/xFJq71zTFzg
Project Recipe
Cut a piece of 12 x 12 card stock to 8 x 12 and score at 2", 4", 6", 8", and 10"
To cut diagonally, measure 2 1/2" from corner on short edge and mark. Measure 2 1/2" from short edge on the opposite diagonal corner and mark. Place on trimmer with marks on cut line so that you will cut diagonally across the long way.
Accordion fold the score lines on both pieces then open back flat. Now the tough part. I like to keep my pieces laying together as if uncut, to keep it straight in my mind where I need to cut. Place the longest score line at the cutting mark on trimmer and cut a slot from the bottom (uncut straight edge) up 2 1/2". Skip the next score line. Cut the 3rd score line up 2". Skip the next score line. Cut the last score line up 1 1/2".
Next, I place the other flattened accordion fold piece on the top edge of my trimmer. (Here is where I try to keep in mind the whole sheet laid out) Line up the shortest score line with the cutting edge. For this piece you will be cutting on the diagonal edge NOT the straight edge. Cut in 1 1/2" from the diagonal edge. Skip the next score line. Cut the 3rd score line using the same method, 2". Skip the next score line. Cut the longest score line 2 1/2".
Interconnect the piece with the slots that you just created. Play with the folds to get them to accordion correctly. Then open them flat again to cut the fringe. Use the fringe scissor and cut through both pieces to fringe the angled edge.
Punch out flowers and decorate and leaves and decorate.
For the daffodils: Punch Petite Pansy Punch for base and use bone folder to curl petals. Next punch a 5/8" circle and use a pencil eraser to form the cup by folding the circle down over the eraser until the desired shape is formed. It will take a little time to get the look you want. Just keep working the paper into the shape. Use a glue dot to adhere to the base, then use another glue dot to adhere to the fringed edge of the card.
Stamp the Oh Happy Day greeting in Tangelo Twist on Daffodil Delight and then punch out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. Punch a second oval from Tangelo Twist and off set behind the greeting. Adhere to the card front.
Cut two sets of leaves with the Secret Garden framelits from Pistachio Pudding. Ink the background stamp from the Build a Bouquet set with Pistachio Pudding Ink and stamp the leaves to get some lines on them. Adhere to card front.
Add candy dots or jewels to flowers as desired and place randomly on card. Cut a piece of whisper white to fit the back of the card. Mat with a darker color if desired. Adhere to the back side of the card for a signature/message area.
