Q uick and easy candy holders using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- 2" x 8" scored at 3-3/4" x 4-1/4"
- 2 pieces each 2" x 4" from Whisper White Cardstock
Unlock the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. Slide one end of the strip of Real Red Cardstock into the punch as far as it will go. Punch. Repeat with the other end.
As you are ready to stamp using the Candy Cane Season Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great) on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the "tis the sweet season" sentiment from the Candy Cane Season Set on Block H. Carefully Ink up only the words "the sweet season" by pressing the stamp to the Real Red Ink Pad so only those words touch the ink pad. Stamp the sentiment along the bottom edge just above one of the score lines on the punched Real Red strip.
Unlock the Candy Cane Builder Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide one of the white strips into the punch and get the candy cane punching area to punch out a complete candy cane while leaving some cardstock unpunched. Punch. Repeat with the other strip of white. Keep all pieces of paper. Leave the punch unlocked.
Mount the repeated "Ho! Ho! Ho!" block image from the Candy Cane Season Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it on one of the candy cane punch outs so the words angle down across the entire candy cane with the top hook of the candy cane on the right side. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the repeated "Ho! Ho! Ho!" block image with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it on the other candy cane punch out so the words angle down across the entire candy cane with the top hook of the candy cane on the left side.
Adhere the candy canes to the front flap of the candy holder so they criss cross each other just above the stamped sentiment on the holder.
Mount the solid bow image from the Candy Cane Season Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp off onto Grid Paper one time. Then, WITHOUT re-inking, stamp it on the remaining end of one of the pieces of white cardstock that you previously punched a candy cane out of. You can throw away the other white piece now.
Mount the outline bow image from the Candy Cane Season Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped bow image.
Holding the Candy Cane Builder Punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped bow into the punch and get it centered in the bow punching area. Punch.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the bow punch out to the center of the criss crossed candy canes.
Fold the red strip on all score lines.
Insert two wrapped candies into the candy holder between the two sides.
Cut a 4" piece of Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon.
Tie the tops of the candy holder together using the ribbon tied in a knot. Trim the ends of the ribbon,.
