F un fold Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Poppy Parade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-3/4" and scored at 4-1/4", 5-3/4", and 7-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 1-1/2" x 4" from Poppy Parade Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 1-1/4" x 3-3/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 2" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
Accordion fold the Poppy Parade card so that the top flap will be open on the right edge. Use a Bone Folder to get nice crisp folds.
As you are ready to stamp using the Candy Cane Season Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Protect the top of the mat from ink with a piece of paper (Grid Paper works great).
Mount the two small candy canes making a rough heart image from the Candy Cane Season Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it a slight angle in the lower right corner of the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of white cardstock.
Adhere the stamped white cardstock to the front of the large panel on the Poppy Parade card.
Mount the block of "ho! ho! ho!" images from the Candy Cane Season Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad and stamp it on one end of one of the 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" pieces. Let the image go off the edges of the cardstock. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it again just below the previously stamped image so the lines of text line up. Repeat again until the entire length of cardstock is stamped. Repeat with the other 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece.
Adhere one of the stamped strips to the top of the end accordion flap. Adhere the other to the top of the center accordion fold.
Adhere one of the 1-1/4" x 3-3/4" white strips to one of the 1-1/2" x 4" strips of Poppy Parade.
Put short strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the TOP of left end of the matted white and red strip only to about 1" from the left side.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape strips and adhere the red and white strip to the back of the front flap so the top edge is about 1/4" from the top of the card. Make sure the left edge of the red and white strip is flush with the fold in the card.
WITHOUT adhering, place the other 1-1/4" x 3-3/4" white strip on top of the other 1-1/2" x 4" Poppy Parade strip. WITHOUT adhering, position these strips on the card about 3/8" below the first matted red and white strip so the left edge of the red strip butts up against the fold in the card.
Mount the "Be jolly!" sentiment from the Candy Cane Season Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom of the white strip just to the right of the accordion folds.
Now, adhere the stamped white strip to the red strip.
Put short strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the TOP of the left end of the matted white and red strip only to about 1" from the left side.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape strips and adhere the red and white strip to the back of the center accordion fold so the top edge is about 3/8" from the bottom of the first strip. Make sure the left edge of the red and white strip is flush with the fold in the card.
Cut a 16" piece of Poppy Parade 1/2" Textured Weave Ribbon.
Wrap the ribbon around the top flap and tie in place with a knot. Trim the ends. Position the knot about 1-1/2" from the top.
Mount the striped candy cane image from the Candy Cane Season Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it near the bottom of one of the 2" x 3-1/2" pieces of white cardstock. Re-ink the stamp and stamp on the other piece of 2" x 3-1/2" white cardstock.
Unlock the Candy Cane Builder Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide one of the stamped candy canes into the punch and get it centered in the candy cane punching area. Punch. Repeat with the other candy cane image.
Tip: If desired, use the Paper Snips to trim off any excess white cardstock on the ends of the candy canes.
Put SNAIL Adhesive on the TOP ONLY of one of the candy cane punch outs. Adhere it to the center of the exposed white strip at the top of the card so the end of the candy cane hangs down at a slight angle and is NOT adhered. The end of the candy cane should be just above the stamped "Be jolly" on the center strip.
Put SNAIL Adhesive on the TOP ONLY of the other candy cane punch out. Adhere it to the right side of the exposed white strip in the center of the card just to the right of the sentiment so the end of the candy cane hangs down at a slight angle and is NOT adhered. The end of the candy cane should be just above the left edge of the small candy cane heart on the bottom layer.
